UFL Week 14: Crusaders Triumph Over Renegades

June 27, 2025

London, ENGLAND - The London Crusaders triumphed over the Dallas Renegades, 12-6 in front of 26,684 fans. The Crusaders held the Renegades scoreless through the first three quarters and recorded three forced fumbles including a league single game high two from DL Pita Taumopenu. The game started out with five penalties, two on London and three on Dallas, through the first drive of the contest, with the Crusaders forcing the Renegades to third down four times. Dallas ended the drive with a missed 44-yard field goal after 12 plays. On Dallas' next drive, Taumopenu recorded a sack to force a fumble by Renegades QB Luis Perez, which was also recovered by Taumopenu. Dallas Head Coach Bob Stoops used his super challenge, arguing for roughing the passer. The call on the field was upheld and the ball was turned over to London. The Crusaders started the second quarter on the resulting drive. London QB Max Duggan was sacked twice in back-to-back plays for a loss of 13 yards and forcing fourth down. On London's sixth drive, Duggan scrambled for 37-yards before being tackled on the 2. The Renegades were able to hold the Crusaders off in the Red Zone, forcing a turnover on downs at the 2 with 5:18 left in the first half. The Crusaders held Dallas within 6 yards of the Renegades endzone in the following drive, forcing a punt from the 2. London got the ball back on the34 after a 48-yard punt by Dallas P Marquette King and a 16-yard punt return by WR Jahcour Pearson. Duggan then threw a pass to WR Hakeem Butler for a 30-yard touchdown reception on the third play of the drive, making the score 6-0. The Crusaders continued their dominance on Dallas' next drive, forcing them into a turnover on downs once again after a sack by DL Isaiah Mack on fourth down with 00:54 left. K Rodrigo Blankenship came in for a successful 48-yard field goal making the score 9-0 as the clock hit zero in the first half.

London returned for the third quarter with DB Chris Payton-Jones intercepting the throw from Perez during Dallas' first drive of the second half. The Crusaders continued to hold the Renegades scoreless through the rest of the third quarter despite Dallas holding the ball for 10:55. Dallas scored their first points of the game on a 46-yard field goal from K Lucas Havrisik on the first play of the fourth quarter to finish off a 12 play drive and make the score 9-3. On the following London drive, Duggan fumbled the ball allowing a recovery by Dallas' DB Jamar Summers at the 10. Dallas was forced into fourth down once again, bringing out Havrisik for a 26-yard field goal making the score 9-6. London returned the favor on the next drive with a 53-yard field goal by Blankenship to extend his perfect kicking record on the season and increase the Crusaders' lead to 12-6. Shortly after, DB Qwynnterrio Cole forced a fumble from WR JaVonta Payton that DB Nick Whiteside then recovered to return the ball to the Crusaders with 5:00 left in the contest. On the next Dallas drive, Taumopenu continued his strong showing by forcing another fumble by Perez with DL Chris Garrett recovering to cement a 12-6 Crusaders win.

UFL Week 14: Showboats Fall Short at Roughnecks

June 28, 2023

Houston, TX - The Houston Roughnecks took advantage of a defensive score to upend the Salt Lake City Showboats 21-20 Saturday afternoon at TDECU Stadium. It was the second one-point loss to Houston this season for Salt Lake, after falling to Houston 18-17 at home in Week 3. Momentum swung midway through the third quarter when DL Armani Marsh sacked Salt Lake QB Dresser Winn at the 45-yard line, forcing a fumble. LB TJ Franklin scooped up the loose ball and returned it for a Roughnecks touchdown. A successful two-point conversion pass from QB Jalan McClendon to WR Justin Hall pushed Houston's lead to 21-14, an advantage they never relinquished. Houston scored first late in the first quarter when McClendon found Hall for a 13-yard scoring strike. A successful 1-point conversion made it 7-0 lead. The Roughnecks extended their advantage to 10-0 early in the second quarter on a 49-yard field goal by K Chris Blewitt. Salt Lake answered with a 9-play, 65-yard drive capped by a 2-yard touchdown pass from Winn to TE Jay Jay Wilson to trim the deficit to four points, 10-6.

The Showboats grabbed the lead on their next possession. Winn powered in for a 9-yard rushing touchdown and connected with WR Jonathan Adams on a 2-point conversion to make it 14-10. Houston's defense stiffened after halftime, adding a field goal after an interception of Winn to make it 14-13. The Roughnecks then flipped the game with the sack-and-score play late in the third quarter. But the Showboats kept battling. Kicker Matt Coghlin hit field goals from 42 and 27 yards to pull Salt Lake within one point, 21-20. But the Houston offense picked up four first downs on the next possession to run the final 5:47 off the clock and seal the win.

UFL Week 14: Panthers Trounce Defenders 38-14; Perkins Dominant Again

June 29, 2023

Detroit, MI - The Detroit Panthers had their most complete game in modern spring league franchise history, scoring their most points in a game as well as recording their largest margin of victory in a 38-14 win against the Washington Defenders at Ford Field on Sunday. Detroit's offense put up 400 yards of offense for the second straight week, 213 of those yards being on the ground, which is a team-high this season. MVP candidate QB Bryce Perkins added to his impressive campaign, completing 13-of-18 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to 76 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. The Panthers tallied three total rushing scores, as RBs Toa Taua and Nate McCrary picked up the other two. It was a steady start for the Panthers, as their defense held off DC's 71-yard opening drive. The Defenders were looking to go for it on fourth-and-one from the five-yard line, but DL Garrett Marino put an end to the drive with a tackle on RB Deon Jackson for no gain. Detroit's offense immediately went to work, producing a 95-yard drive capped off by a Taua one-yard rushing score. Perkins ran in the one-point conversion for the early 7-0 lead. The Defenders responded in the second quarter with QB Jordan Ta'amu connecting with WR Braylon Sanders for a 16-yard touchdown. Detroit stopped the two-point conversion attempt to keep the lead. Despite some short, unrewarding drives for both teams, the Panthers were able to extend their lead with a TE Cole Hikutini 35-yard touchdown reception and a K BT Potter 45-yard field goal. The Panthers took a 17-6 lead into the break.

The Panthers opened the third quarter with a 73-yard drive, with 48 of those yards coming from scrambles by Perkins. McCrary ended the possession with a one-yard touchdown rush, and a WR Malik Turner reception converted the extra point, making the score 24-6. Wasting no time, Ta'amu connected with WR Chris Rowland deep for a 65-yard touchdown. DC converted the two-point attempt to cut into Detroit's lead. On Detroit's ensuing drive, Perkins and TE Gunnar Oakes connected for a big 34-yard gain. Perkins finished the drive by scrambling into the end zone from five yards out. The Panthers offense continued to find the endzone in the fourth quarter, showing no signs of slowing down. Perkins found Turner for a two-yard touchdown, which was initially tipped before Turner hauled it in before hitting paydirt. McCrary ran in the two-point conversion, finalizing the score at 38-14.

UFL Week 14: Stampede Bounce Back with a 26-3 Win over Dreadful Ravens

June 29, 2023

Oklahoma City, OK - The Oklahoma City Stampede bounced back in dominating fashion on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Munich Ravens, 26-3. Oklahoma City's defense put together another standout performance, holding Munich's offense to only 178 total yards, including just 24 yards on the ground. Both the 178 total yards and the 24 rushing yards are new season-lows for Oklahoma City's defense. Furthermore, the Stallions' defense was extremely efficient in getting off the field on third down, holding the Brahmas to 0-for-10 on third down conversions and 0-for-1 on fourth down attempts. "What a blessing for us to have the opportunity to be associated with this league, this team and these players, " said Head Coach Skip Holtz. "God has put every man here for a reason, and I'm just excited to have the opportunity to be part of it. What a game defensively! We gave up a 56-yard pass to start the game. Then we gave up about 70 yards on two big plays before halftime, and we still finished by giving up only 178 yards. What a defensive performance; I thought those guys were awesome. We talked about what we wanted to do offensively is play the game probably a little more conservatively, giving our quarterback an opportunity to stand in the pocket, throw some play action and some ball control stuff. I thought our defense gave us an opportunity to do that because they kept getting off the field. The only thing that was hard today was the two series we were backed up and couldn't get anything going."

The Stampede used the quarterback duo of Case Cookus and Andrew Peasley to lead the offensive charge. Cookus finished the day 16-of-23 passing for 166 yards and two touchdowns. Cookus also added 16 rushing yards on four attempts. Peasley made his debut, putting together a solid relief effort. Peasley finished the game completing 5-of-8 passes for 79 yards, adding 10 yards on the ground. WR Cade Johnson led Stallions' receivers, hauling in five of his six targets for 61 yards. WR Amari Rodgers and TE Jace Sternberger were on the receiving end of Cookus' touchdown passes, as Rodgers scored from 43 yards out and Sternberger from five. Both scores were the first touchdowns of the season for the two veterans. K Harrison Mevis continued his stellar and consistent playin his first year in spring football. Mevis was a perfect 2-for-2 on the day, connecting on field goals of 49 and 50 yards.

UFL Week 15: Ravens Fall Short in Back-And-Forth Battle with DC

July 4, 2025

Munich, GERMANY - The Munich Ravens dropped a hard-fought 32-24 contest to the DC Defenders on Friday evening at the Alamodome. Despite outgaining DC in total yardage and dominating time of possession, San Antonio was ultimately undone by explosive plays and a momentum-shifting defensive touchdown. The Ravens set a new season high through the air, recording 216 passing yards behind a sharp performance from Kevin Hogan. Hogan completed 20 of 31 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with seven different receivers while also adding 32 rushing yards. He showed poise under pressure and helped engineer multiple scoring drives, including a go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter. Munich's ground game was powered by RB Jashaun Corbin, who turned in a sensational all-purpose effort. Corbin rushed nine times for 109 yards, including a thrilling 57-yard touchdown sprint in the fourth quarter. He also added 32 receiving yards and 118 yards on kickoff returns, finishing the night with 259 all-purpose yards. The Ravens' tight ends continued to be key contributors in the passing game. TE Steven Stilianos hauled in five catches for 46 yards and a red-zone touchdown, while TE Alize Mack found the end zone for the first time this season on a 7-yard reception in the second quarter.

Defensively, Munich limited DC to just five third-down attempts and forced a fumble, but gave up two critical long touchdown passes of 29 and 76 yards. LB Jordan Williams led the way with 11 tackles, while LBs Jordan Mosley and Tavante Beckett each recorded eight stops. DL Isaiah Buggs chipped in with a sack, a tackle for loss, and a key third-down stop. Special teams remained a bright spot, with K Tristan Vizcaino nailing field goals from 22 and 54 yards and P Brad Wing averaging 46.3 yards per punt. Corbin continued to provide a spark in the return game, while WRs Marquez Stevenson and Kirk Merritt contributed in the punt and kick return units. Despite holding the ball for over 34 minutes, converting two of three red zone trips, and limiting penalties to just 45 yards, Munich couldn't overcome the Defenders' explosive scoring and a pivotal 51-yard fumble return touchdown late in the first half. The Ravens now look to regroup and build on their offensive momentum as they prepare for next week's matchup.

UFL Week 15: Toa Taua Walks Off Panthers in 25-24 Win in Dallas

July 5, 2023

Dallas, TX - With one second remaining in the game, RB Toa Taua saved the day for the Detroit Panthers with a one-yard touchdown rush to tie the game 24-24 with an opportunity to win the game on the conversion attempt. Detroit went back to Taua again, who ran in the one-point attempt to deliver the resilient victory for the Panthers. After a QB Bryce Perkins scramble and hurdle to get to Dallas' one-yard line, head coach Mike Nolan was able to get the timeout off before the clock ran out. In the end, it was an 11-play, 56-yard drive in the final two minutes that Detroit put together. It was not the best game for the Panthers, as they were held scoreless in two quarters, lost two fumbles and allowed Dallas to go on a 15-0 run. Detroit rallied with 16 points in the fourth quarter in a wild affair. Detroit's defense showed out, as they held the Renegades 1-of-5 in the red zone while tallying three sacks and 10 TFLs, a team game-high this season. Dallas took an early lead with a field goal, but Perkins took the Panthers on an eight-play, 79-yard drive that was capped by a Perkins touchdown two plays into the second quarter. Perkins scampered from 24 yards out, but the ball was punched loose before the goal line. The ball took a Detroit bounce and right back into the arms of Perkins in the endzone for the score. The one-point conversion attempt was stopped, but Detroit led 6-3. K BT Potter extended Detroit's lead with a 56-yard field goal. It is the longest make of Potter's career and tied for the longest field goal in the league this season. It's also the longest outdoor field goal for a Panther kicker since the merger to form the UFL. Dallas then went on a 15-0 run with the help of three more K Lucas Havrisik field goals and a 29-yard touchdown catch by WR Tyler Vaughns. The Renegades kicker knocked in a 33-yard field goal as time expired in the first half, and banked another two in the third quarter.

The first touchdown of the game for the Renegades came early in the fourth quarter, as QB Luis Perez connected with Vaughns for the catch-and-run score. The two-point conversion attempt failed, keeping it a one-score game. Detroit's offense stopped the bleeding with a WR Malik Turner 12-yard touchdown with 5:47 remaining in the game. Perkins made a big play earlier in the drive, finding Taua for an 11-yard gain on fourth-and-seven to keep the drive alive. After a defensive holding on the initial attempt, the Panthers attempted the three-point conversion from the five-yard line, and Perkins hit Turner again in the corner of the endzone to tie the game 18-18. Dallas responded with another touchdown, this time a 10-yard connection from Perez to Sal Cannella. The Renegades opted to go for the two-point conversion attempt, but Detroit's defense turned them away. With 2:01 remaining in the game, Perkins and Co. did what they had to do to steal the victory from the jaws of defeat.

UFL Week 15: Stampede Erase 19-Point Deficit, Defeat Roughnecks

July 5, 2023

Oklahoma City, OK - The Oklahoma City Stampede scored 27 unanswered points to crawl out of a 19-point halftime deficit to defeat the Houston Roughnecks, 33-25. The come-from-behind win is the largest comeback win in UFL history. QB JMar Smith replaced an injured QB Case Cookus in the second half, leading the offense on a 75-yard go-ahead scoring drive late in the fourth to put the Stampede in front for good. The drive was captivated by a one-yard rushing touchdown by Smith, followed by a fumble recovery on the following kickoff by Oklahoma City's special teams that led to a touchdown run by RB Ricky Person to push the game out of reach. "Looking at the game, it's 60 minutes long," said Head Coach of the Birmingham Stallions Skip Holtz. "We have almost mastered the art of using every bit of those 60 minutes to find a way to win a football game. Our team will never quit. Defensively, a bit of a rough first quarter and then on offense we had a receiver that fell down that led to a pick six. Now, all of a sudden it felt like we were down 18-6 before the game even started. Nobody on our sideline hung their head, we've got a motto about not flinching and keep playing. We made the plays that we needed to win and I am proud of how we ran the ball today. I thought that after that first quarter they really locked in and did a great job getting that huge stop at the end.

The Stampede used multiple quarterbacks, as Cookus got the start and finished the day 17-of-34 for 199 yards, one touchdown and an interception. Prior to his early departure due to injury, Cookus added 36 rushing yards on four attempts. Smith provided a spark to the Stampede's offense in the fourth quarter, replacing a bang-up Cookus and completing 3-of-5 passes for 63 yards. Smith led the go-ahead touchdown drive, calling his own number for a one-yard rushing score. Oklahoma City's offense finished the day with a season-high three rushing touchdowns. Person led the ground attack, rushing for 60 yards on 13 attempts and a touchdown. Person's running mate, RB CJ Marable also had a productive day out of the backfield for the Stampede. Marable finished the game with 44 rushing yards on 10 attempts and a touchdown. Marable also had the longest Stampede's rush on the day with a 31-yard dash in the second half. The Stampede receiving room continued its consistent play, as nine different players had at least one catch on the day. TE Jace Sternberger led the way with 74 yards receiving on four receptions and a touchdown. WR Deon Cain hauled in a game-high five receptions for 63 total yards.

Oklahoma City's defense came up big in the second half, sacking Houston's quarterback on fourth and long to seal the win for the Stampede in the waning moments. DBs AJ Thomas and Steven Gilmore led the defense with six tackles each, as Thomas added one tackle for loss, and all six of Gilmore's tackles were solo stops. Oklahoma City's defense walked away with a season-high four total sacks on the day. Kenny Robinson, Marvin Wilson, Carlos Davis and Perrion Winfrey all registered a sack for the defense. Special teams continued to play a huge role, as K Harrison Mevis was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals, while DB Mario Goodrich forced a fumble on a Houston kickoff return that was recovered by DB Tre Norwood. The very next offensive play, Person scored from two-yards out to push the score to the eventual final.

UFL Week 15: Crusaders Beat Showboats

July 6, 2023

Salt Lake City, UT - The London Crusaders triumphed over the Salt Lake City Showboats, 19-9 in front of 14,215 fans. QB Max Duggan finished with 57 rushing yards over 10 attempts and 15-23 (65%) pass completion rate for 158 yards, the most he's recorded in a single-game since the 2022 Fiesta Bowl with TCU vs Michigan. WR Jarveon Howard started off the second London drive with a 14-yard rush, immediately followed by a 29-yard scramble by Duggan to the 4. London was then pushed back 5-yards due to an Illegal Formation penalty on OL Brad Ashmore. Duggan finished it off with a 7-yard touchdown rush to put the first points on the board. Duggan then handed the ball off to Howard once again for a successful 2-yard rush on the one-point attempt making the score 7-0. Due to a well-timed tackle by LB Carson Wells to force a turnover on downs, London regained possession on the 39. The Crusaders were unable to make it to the endzone, turning to K Rodrigo Blankenship for a 53-yard field goal to increase the Crusaders lead to 10-0. Salt Lake City started the second quarter by finishing a 12 play, 66-yard drive that resulted in another turnover on downs at the 9. WR Jacob Saylors recorded a 25-yard rush to move the ball down field and tie his longest rush of the season from Week 1 at HOU. The Crusaders punted on fourth down to return possession to Salt Lake. The Showboats put their first points on the board with a 5-yard touchdown pass to WR Jonathan Adams from QB Dresser Winn to make the score 10-6. Duggan answered quickly, launching a 29-yard pass to WR Hakeem Butler and a 15-yard pass to WR Gary Jennings. He finished up the drive with a 13-yard touchdown pass to WR Jahcour Pearson to make the score 16-6 with 0:40 left in the first half.

In the third quarter, DL Isaiah Mack forced Salt Lake QB Winn to fumble, giving the Crusaders the ball at the 12 after a 8-yard fumble return by DL Kyler Baugh. On the resulting drive, Duggan threw an interception to DB Kyree Woods to give Salt Lake the ball back. The Showboats used the opportunity to get within field goal range thanks to a 15-yard pass by Winn to WR Kai Locksley and a 30-yard pass to WR Jonathan Adams. Salt Lake K Matt Coghlin launched a successful 27-yard field goal to narrow the Crusaders lead to 16-9. Duggan responded with a 39-yard pass to Jennings to put the ball on the 35 with 1:28 left in the third quarter but the drive ultimately left the team without any more points. Neither team was able to score further until the Crusaders tallied a 44-yard field goal by Blankenship with 2:57 left on the clock to make the score 19-9. The Showboats were unable to score again after being pushed back to 4th and 36 on the 35, finalizing the win.

UFL Week 16: Showboats Defeat Ravens in OT

July 11, 2025

Munich, GERMANY - The Salt Lake defense held strong in overtime Friday night as the Showboats defeated the Munich Ravens 24-22. The win marks the Showboats second overtime victory of the season. In the shootout-style overtime format, Salt Lake converted two of its three attempts, while Munich scored on just one. The Showboats got off to a fast start, thanks to a 43-yard Pick Six from DB Cameron Dantzler in the first quarter. WR Jonathan Adams secured the 2-point conversion, giving Salt Lake an early 8-0 lead. A lively second quarter saw nearly 20 points between the two teams. Salt Lake extended its lead to 11-0 with a 36-yard field goal from K Matt Coghlin. Munich responded with a 38-yard touchdown pass from TE Steven Stilianos to former Showboat WR Dee Anderson, narrowing the gap to 11-6. Salt Lake answered immediately with all the work done by RB Jalen Jackson. On the first play of the drive, Jackson ripped off a 54-yard run to the 12-yard line. On the next play, he barreled into the end zone to put Salt Lake up 17-6. But the Ravens capitalized on a costly fumble by WR Kwamie Lassiter with less than a minute left in the half. LB Jordan Williams returned the fumble to the 2-yard line, setting up a touchdown run by RB Jashaun Corbin, followed by a successful 2-point conversion. The Showboats carried a narrow 17-14 lead into halftime.

Points were scarce in the third quarter, with Coghlin adding his second 36-yard field goal to push the Showboats ahead 20-14. In the fourth, the Ravens tacked on two field goals, the second tying the game 20-20 with under 30 seconds remaining. UFL overtime is a best-of-three, shootout-style duel of 2-point conversions. On the first possessions, Salt Lake QB Troy Williams found WR Daewood Davis in the end zone for Salt Lake and Munich failed to score. Williams tossed a strike to WR Kai Locksley on Salt Lake's second try, while Munich WR Jontre Kirklin kept the Ravens in it with a conversion on their second possession. Neither team scored on their third possessions, giving Salt Lake the 24-22 victory. Williams played a unique role for Salt Lake, favoring the run over the pass. Williams completed 5-of-11 passes for 36 yards, while rushing 6 times for 29 yards. Jackson led the team on the ground with 76 yards and a touchdown on 7 carries. RB Deneric Prince added 45 rushing yards on 12 attempts. LB Steele Chambers anchored the 'Boats defense with 11 total tackles, including 7 solos and 1 tackle for-loss. Three Showboats tallied interceptions: Dantzler, DL Josiah Bronson and LB Andrew Dowell.

UFL Week 16: Panthers Clinch Playoff Berth with 30-18 Win over Roughnecks

July 12, 2023

Houston, TX - The Detroit Panthers defeated the Houston Roughnecks 30-18 on Saturday afternoon to clinch a spot in the playoffs for the second straight season. QB Danny Etling led the Panthers to victory with three passing touchdowns, the first time he has accomplished the feat since his final season at LSU in 2017. DB Keni-H Lovely added a defensive touchdown for the Panthers with a 55-yard interception return for a score in the third quarter. Houston was shut down in the second half after being down a field goal at halftime. QB Bryce Perkins, who suffered an ankle injury last week against Dallas, was unable to play following warmups and Etling made the start at quarterback for the Panthers for the first time since Week 3. He settled in towards the end of the opening quarter, as he threw a five-yard touchdown pass to WR Malik Turner with 28 seconds left. Etling found TE Cole Hikutini for the one-point conversion and a 7-3 lead. Detroit's special teams made a big play early in the second quarter, as WR Xavier Malone returned a punt 88 yards to Houston's one-yard line. On the very next play, Etling connected with WR Samson Nacua for a touchdown. RB Toa Taua ran in the one-point conversion to extend their lead. It did not take long for Houston to respond, as QB Jalan McClendon only needed a three-minute drive and hit WR Keke Chism deep for a 33-yard score. Detroit's defense turned away the one-point conversion attempt. The Roughnecks added another field goal before halftime, but Detroit went into the break with a 14-12 advantage.

Houston opened the third quarter with a promising dive that got into Detroit territory, but a fourth down drop cut the drive short. Etling and the Panthers took advantage, finding the endzone again with a 35-yard touchdown pass to WR Devin Ross on third-and-15. Taua converted the one-point score once again, and the Panthers made it a 21-12 game. On Houston's ensuing drive, Lovely shot out of a cannon to jump the route on a McClendon pass for the interception and returned it 55 yards for the touchdown. The one-point conversion attempt failed, but Detroit claimed their biggest lead of the game. Detroit's defense continued to overwhelm Houston in the fourth quarter, including another fourth down stop and a fumble recovery. It was an all-around effort by the Panthers, who clinched a playoff spot with the win and will now return to the playoffs in three weeks.

UFL Week 16: Crusaders Run Past Stampede

July 12, 2023

London, ENGLAND - The London Crusaders triumphed over the Oklahoma City Stampede, 29-28, in front of 40,114 fans. The lead changed six times, with both teams turning the ball over twice via fumble and a combined 105 penalty yards. The Crusaders rushed for 173 yards, their most since Week 1 vs the Roughnecks. After being shut down by the Crusaders in three plays to start the game, Oklahoma City was able to score on their second drive with a 65-yard pass by QB J'Mar Smith to WR Deon Cain to make the score 6-0. On the following kick return, WR Gary Jennings fumbled which was recovered by Oklahoma City's CB Mario Goodrich. The London defense held strong, bringing in K Harrison Mevis for a successful 45-yard field goal to increase the lead, 9-0. London looked to put their own points on the board on their next drive, starting with a pass from QB Max Duggan to TE Jake Sutherland for 13-yards. The Crusaders kept their forward progression with a combination of 14-rushing yards by RB Jacob Saylors and 25-penalty yards against the Stampede, with Duggan rushing to score the first Crusaders' touchdown of the game to make the score 9-6. London started the second quarter with LB Travis Feeney sacking Smith to force a fumble that was then recovered by LB Pita Taumoepenu at the 22 and returned for 15-yards. Duggan then rushed for 12-yards for another Crusaders touchdown. He then completed a pass to Saylors for a successful one-point conversion attempt, putting the Crusaders in the lead, 13-9. Oklahoma City wasted no time, responding with a 14-play drive to get Mevis in field goal range, where he knocked in a 34-yarder to make the score 13-12 with 4:42 left in the first half. The Stampede made it down to the 16 before Smith was sacked on 3rd and 10 by LB Chris Garrett. London regained possession with 1:13 left in the first half, recording a 6-play, 44-yard drive before passing the ball off to K Rodrigo Blankenship without a clock stoppage. Blankenship missed his first field goal of the season on the 58-yard attempt as the clock ran out in the first half.

Coming back after halftime, Duggan threw an interception to DB AJ Thomas on the 45. The Stampede used the chance to score a touchdown on a 50-yard pass to Cain to recover the lead, 18-13. The Crusaders tried to respond, making it down to the 20 on a 22-yard rush by Saylors before WR Jarveon Howard fumbled the ball on his following rush attempt. Oklahoma City LB Kyahva Tezino recovered the fumble. The Stampede once again brought in Mevis for a successful 36-yard field goal to make the score 21-13. Saylors recorded a 14-yard rush on the next drive, followed by a 12-yard scramble by Duggan to move into Oklahoma City territory with 46 seconds left in the third. The Crusaders made it to the 31 before bringing in Blankenship for a successful 49-yard field goal to shrink the the lead, 21-16. Oklahoma City's Cain fielded the kickoff, returning the ball to the 35 with an offensive holding call on Thomas, knocking them back to the 17. Smith then threw a pass intercepted by LB Callahan O'Reilly on the 18, who returned the ball for a London Pick-Six to put the Crusaders back on top, 22-21. With 5:21 left on the game clock, Smith threw a pass to WR Cade Johnson for a 47-yard touchdown reception and followed it with a pass to Cain for a successful one-point conversion, once again flipping the lead back in Oklahoma City's favor, 28-22. The Crusaders returned the favor, with a 9-yard rush by Saylors followed by a 30-yard pass from Duggan to WR Hakeem Butler. Saylors wasn't done, running for another 23-yards to the 5 before another 4-yard rush into the endzone. The team turned to Saylors again for a successful 1-yard rush to score the one-point conversion attempt and switch the lead back to London, 29-28. The Stampede's attempt to rally was thwarted when Feeney forced a fumble on RB CJ Marable that was recovered by DB Myles Jones with 28 seconds left in the game.

UFL Week 16: The Renegades Fall to the Defenders in a Near-Comeback Battle

July 13, 2023

Washington, DC - The Dallas Renegades fell to the Washington Defenders in a 33-30 shootout defeat at Audi Field. The action started early when Dallas' special teams set the tone. After a three-and-out on their opening drive, P Marquette King booted the ball deep into DC territory, leading to the Renegades forcing a fumble on the return.. The drive was kept alive by a clutch 3rd-and-14 conversion from RB Dae Dae Hunter, setting up a 30-yard field goal by K Lucas Havrisik to give Dallas a 3-0 lead. But DC struck back quickly. On their second offensive play, RB Deon Jackson broke loose for a 57-yard touchdown run, later successfully converting a 3-point attempt to go up 9-3. Dallas' next drive showed promise with WR Deontay Burnett making key grabs, but a sack and fumble on QB Luis Perez ended the threat. Both defenses would trade stops in a gritty end to the first quarter. The Defenders opened the second quarter with another punch. A touchdown run by RB Abram Smith extended their lead to 15-3. A flurry of events then followed. On the Renegades' next possession, a strip sack appeared to hand DC the ball at Dallas' 1-yard line, but a defensive holding penalty wiped it all away after a lengthy review. Capitalizing on the second chance, Perez orchestrated a scoring drive featuring big gains from Hunter and TE Sal Cannella, capping it with a back-shoulder touchdown throw to WR Tyler Vaughns. Dallas closed the gap to 15-11. DC continued to show creativity on offense. A trick play left QB Jordan Ta'amu wide open for a receiving touchdown, pushing the lead to 21-11. But the Renegades refused to back down. A 48-yard bomb to TE Seth Green and a 4th-and-1 conversion by Burnett set up Vaughns' second touchdown, a stunning one-handed grab in the endzone to bring it to 21-17 at halftime.

After the break, DC struck again, this time on a four-yard touchdown pass from Ta'amu to WR Cornell Powell, making it 27-17. The Renegades answered with another long drive, fueled by chunk plays from WRs Isaiah Winstead and JaVonta Payton. Havrisik nailed a 54-yard field goal to keep Dallas in it. After many defensive stops and a nice offensive drive, he hit again from 45 yards out to make it 27-23 heading into the fourth. DC opened the final quarter with another Powell touchdown catch from Ta'amu, stretching the lead to 33-23. Still, Dallas wouldn't go away quietly. Behind a mix of short passes and smart playcalling, Perez led a methodical drive that ended with a quarterback sneak touchdown by backup QB Holton Ahlers and a crucial one-point conversion, trimming the lead to 33-30. With the game on the line, Dallas' defense delivered key stops, forcing a DC punt and giving the Renegades one final possession to tie or win. But with time ticking down, a last-second interception sealed Dallas' fate.

UFL Expands Distribution to African Continent

August 6, 2024

New York, NY - The UFL and SportyTV announced a multi-year partnership to bring UFL action to fans across Africa. Beginning with the 2026 season kickoff, SportyTV will become the exclusive broadcaster of UFL across the African continent via its free-to-air TV channel and digital platforms. SportyTV will air one live UFL game every Saturday and Sunday. The deal also includes coverage of ten playoff games, along with a wide range of additional content available on demand such as full game highlights, weekly magazine shows, and a curated selection of the UFL’s Top 10 Greatest Games of All Time.

This partnership enables UFL to expand its reach into key African markets, including South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya through SportyTV’s growing multi-platform ecosystem. "American football is gaining momentum across Africa, not just as a thrilling spectacle, but as a new stage for emerging world-class talent," said Elias Gallego, VP of Media, Marketing, and Business Development. "At SportyTV, we are proud to be at the forefront of this movement, offering fans unprecedented access to top-tier football and opening new doors for the sport across the continent."

"We are very excited to expand our footprint in exciting new markets with our new partner SportyTV. This is the next big step to increase global awareness and emerge our distribution for the UFL," said Zeljko Karajica, CEO of the WLAF.
