Defensive Rating Suggestion

I think implementing a division of defensive ability into perimeter and post defense would be a great idea. I love the complexities on the offensive side of the ball, but one number for defense doesnt do it justice. Its too easy to get away with putting a small guy with 7 or 8 D at PF or C and having them shut down opposing players. I dont know the complexities of the gameplay code but having perimeter D affect drive stopping and pull up and catch and shoot percentages with post D affecting post shot and layup percentages and post denial seems like it would lead to a more accurate simulations. Hell, maybe an off-ball rating too that affects ball denial, catch and shoot percentages and help/zone defense. I read in a previous thread that defensive rating seems to be OP and Id have to agree with them. I believe this type of update could be a solution as it would lead to more realistic/complex gameplay.
