2024 NBA Playoffs 1st round

Game 1 Denver Nuggets(0-0) @ San Antonio Spurs(0-0)

The goal with this first game is to go out and dominate from the opening tip. I hope to take advantage and sweep the Nuggets, but that will require some targeting of Jokic at the very least. Still this should be a sweep or gentleman's sweep.

Denver Nuggets 111 San Antonio Spurs 104
Player of the game: Nikola Jokic 34 Pts, 9 Ast, 12 Reb, 2 Stl
Points Leader: Jokic 34
Assists Leader: Jokic & Sochan 9
Rebounds Leader: Jokic & Webanyama 12
We don't do that and drop the game at home to the Nuggets; did I mention we have 4 injuries' to guys rn including Kispert?! The game wants this team to drop it in the 1st round.

Game 2 Denver Nuggets (1-0) @ San Antonio Spurs (0-1)

We have to even this one up and buy time for injured guys to come back and play. If we o down 2-0 at home; then we can see the sweep happening to us.

Player of the game: Tre Jones 35 Pts, 7 Ast, 4 Reb, 1 Blk, 3 Stl
Points Leader: Jones 35
Assists Leader: Jones & Murray 7
Rebounds Leader: Jokic 19

We do it despite a monster Jokic game with the 19 boards, almost 20 and 20 from him. Gotta wait it out for Kispert to come back sometime.

Game 3 San Antonio Spurs(1-1) Denver Nuggets (1-1)

Here we go; against all odds with our backs agsint the wall; its game 3!

San Antonio Spurs 91 Denver Nuggets 111
Player of the game: Nikola Jokic 55 Pts, 2 Asts, 24 Rebs, 4 Blks, 1 Stl
Points Leader: Jokic 55
Assists leader: Jones 8
Rebounds leader: Jokic 24

Awful game here with Jokic hitting us for 55 and Victor fouling out. We have no depth and have no ability to press forward; we are getting 1st rounded.

Game 4 San Antonio Spurs(1-2) Denver Nuggets (2-1)
This is our stand; we gotta tie this up 2-2 and get back Gafford and Sochan for our next game and we will be sitting pretty as a team I think! But if we go down 3-1 then I think it is curtains for us; win this then defend home court then win at home again!

Image
San Antonio Spurs 121 Denver Nuggets 117
Player of the Game: Victor Wembanyama 33 Pts, 2 Asts, 17 Rebs, 7 Blks, 3 Steals
Points Leader: Wembanyama & Jokic 33
Assists Leader: Jones 15
Rebounds Leader: Wembanyama & Jokic 17

We do it! As a big game from Victor as we tie it up 2-2 and now we are in a position n to grab a 3-2 advantage! Huge win for the Spurs here; If we didn't win this; it would have been curtains.

Game 5 Denver Nuggets (2-2) San Antonio Spurs (2-2)
Here we go; time to defend the home court and put pressure on Denver to take this game out of our hands.

Points Leader: Kispert 31
Assists Leader: Jones 14
Rebounds Leader: Wembanyama 13

A big win for us here! We have taken a 3-2 lead over Denver, but a casualty has occurred with Sochan being out.

Game 6 San Antonio Spurs (3-2) Denver Nuggets (2-3)

Here we go; time to clinch this series and try and pray we can get some rest to nurse injuries' and bring our guys back hopefully.

WE DO IT! I was so worried we wouldn't be able to do this, but lo and behold; we do it! Onto round 2 we are headed.

Players of the Game: Daniel Gafford 33 Pts, 6 Asts, 9 Rebounds, 1 Stl
Points Leader: Gafford 33
Assists Leader: Jones 14
Rebounds Leader: Jones, Gafford, Murray, Jokic 9

2024 NBA Playoffs Western Conference Semi-Finals

Game 1 Portland Trailblazers(0-0) @ San Antonio Spurs(0-0)

We enter this a pretty heavy favorite, but this Portland team would upset the Houston Rockets in 6 games, so a bit of a fight to expect out of Tatum and Portland here. I got faith that they got Tatum and we got Victor.

Player of the game: Victor Webanyama 32 Pts, 4 Asts, 10 Rebs, 2 Blks
Points Leader: Tatum 34
Assists Leader: Murray 7
Rebounds Leader: Tatum 16

Big win here over Portland to start the series off right and what a time we have making sure to defend the homecourt.I am super worried about Tatum however as he will be a killer here and I do not want to face that too much longer.

Game 2 Portland Trailblazers (0-1) @ San Antonio Spurs (1-0)

Image
Portland Trailblazers 119 San Antonio Spurs 139
Player of the game: Victor Webanyama 45 Pts, 3 Asts, 14 Rebs, 8 Blks, 2 Stls
Points Leader: Tatum 34
Assists Leader: Jones 11
Rebounds Leader: Webanyama 14
Another huge win for us to jump out 2-0 over the Trailblazers; homecourt is too OP. The real challenge will be going into Portland and trying to grab some wins.

Game 3 San Antonio Spurs (2-0) @ Portland Trailblazers (0-2)

Need to set the tone here in terms of making sure we can grab the road victory and win not only the road game but pressure Portland to take it to us.
Image
San Antonio Spurs 110 Portland Trailblazers 112
Player of the game: Jayson Tatum 50 Pts, 8 Asts, 10 Rebs
Points Leader: Tatum 50
Assists Leader: Murray 12
Rebounds Leader: Webanyama 16

We blow it big time as we lose by 2; this could have been huge for us, but we wasted it! Tatum is a legitimate monster and I am very scared should we not be prepared for him next.

Game 4 San Antonio Spurs (2-1) @ Portland Trailblazers (1-2)
Image
San Antonio Spurs 104 Portland Trailblazers 116
Player of the game: Jayson Tatum 34 Pts,3 Asts, 11 Rebs, 2 Stls, 2 Blks
Points Leader: Tatum 34
Assists Leader: Jones 8
Rebounds Leader: Webanyama 15

A huge loss here as it is tied 2-2 as we head back to San Antonio; I expect the homecourt to get us a win, but felt we let ourselves down.
Game 5 Portland Trailblazers (2-2) @ San Antonio Spurs (2-2)
Image
Portland Trailblazers 109 San Antonio Spurs 136
Player of the game: Victor Webanyama 36 Pts,3 Asts, 12 Rebs, 3 Blks
Points Leader: Webanyama 36
Assists Leader: Jones 8
Rebounds Leader: Gafford 15

Big time win here; we put the pressure for a game 6 here and can look to win on the road even with no Tre Jones after this.

Game 6 San Antonio Spurs (3-2) @ Portland Trailblazers (2-3)
Image
San Antonio Spurs 119 Portland Trailblazers 116
Player of the game: Jeremy Sochan 40 Pts, 5 Asts, 6 Rebs, 2 Stls
Points Leader: Sochan 40
Assists Leader: Murray & Henderson 8
Rebounds Leader: Webanyama 17

Huge overtime thriller here as we get Sochan to go off for 40! Conference Finals here we go.

Nice dynasty! What happened later?

By looking the boxscores, you had a bit of luck. Gordon was injured for Denver after they had a lead, so replacement was no match for Wemby. Also Tatum in last match I guess.

In my game after 3 years with Denver, SAS is also very good, they had 60-22 record in 3rd year (no playoffs in first 2 years), was in conference final, but get kicked out by mediocre LAL team. After 1st year they get lucky on draft, picked center with 90 potential (7th pick).

The game is great, but has serious flaws, like favouring home teams. In your save, I can see that last, 15th team in western conference had 25-17 score on home court. Similar is in mine. I think it also favours specialist players! Zach is better player overall than Gafford, but G is playing better (inside scoring).

I have great team with overall ratings, but biggest success was conference final in 1st year. I managed to get S. Henderson in 1st year, now he is 94 with more potential. He is good, but has tendency to be fouled out. Every 2nd game he plays only 20 mins. Also got D. Murray. Also some good rookies with great potential and some great veteran free agents via exceptions (Portis, Harden). Really strong team overall, but not successful! I rejected trade Jokic-Wemby in 1st season. Also rejected now for Henderson and 2 1st round picks (my mistake probably).
