I think the deciding factor when I ran it the first time probably was that I didn't beg hard enough. I remember not being super desperate and I probably didn't take the correct bargaining position. Didn't think I needed to. But I SHOULD have known based on the feedback I had gotten. Just not used to that element of the game being relevant.
