Talking Points - New to Game

Not sure if this is just because I'm in Sandbox mode - but during recruiting, some players have talking points and 1's listed next to them. I'm able to up those to whatever number I choose, but what do these refer to?

thanks! is there no talking points available in Sandbox mode?

there is, but you have to take the team off of CPU control for the settings to appear.
