The Alliance...DDSPF21 version

Postby Skycast » Thu Feb 25, 2021 11:19 am

The Alliance of American Football is making a comeback over on the SimNation Slack.

Some quick things if you are interested...

• No forums, we will be running only off the Slack space.
• Full graphics and such are in the game.
• There are two season (2019, 2020) already simmed so there is some history to be had...the league previously played for two seasons then shut down due to commissioner computer issues.
• We are starting in Staff Signing, Week 1 of the 2021 season.

As for league settings and logistics...

• Players are currently a combination of fictional and real-life players that were on their historic team. Historic players noted with a * before their last name.
• Our draft pool will come from the lower echelon of the SNCFL...the upper echelon goes to the WWPF.
• The OVR of each player is hidden, everyone is showing up with a 0...gotta drill in on those individual ratings and positional skills.
• Currently set to 40 man rosters on game day with a 5 man practice squad with NO practice squad claims.

As of this posting, there are four teams open: Atlanta Legends, Birmingham Iron, Salt Lake Stallions, San Antonio Commanders

The Alliance just flipped to a new season, staff signings are going tomorrow and Thursday, we have two open teams:

• The Salt Lake Stallions, who lost in the Alliance Cup last season so are set up nicely for a successful season.
• The San Antonio Commanders who own the 2nd overall pick in the draft and need some rebuilding to compete.

Pick your poison and join us.

The defending Alliance Cup champion Orlando Apollos are now also open. We are in the first wave of free agency before the draft.

Breaking News

It is with great excitement that the Alliance announces this will be the final season for the league. The 8-team spring league has had great success with the small core of owners it's had so far during it's existence, but the league brain trust has decided that the smaller nature of the league is hindering it's growth in attracting new owners. The league today formally announces that after this season concludes, it will be expanding to 16 teams and morphing into the United Spring Football League. In addition to the existing 8 Alliance teams, 8 new teams from the historic United States Football League from the mid-80's will be joining the new USFL to begin player after the final Alliance Cup champion is crowned this season.

Stay tuned for future announcements on the new league structure and teams.
