After a one-year hiatus the Golden Age Hoops is back to start our 22nd season (1997-98). We started in 1976-77 and it has been a long and for the most part enjoyable journey. This one-year break was needed for the league in order to come back strong.

We are currently in the 1997 offseason after the Chicago Bulls of Michael Jordan and Gary Payton defeated the Dallas Mavericks of Glenn Robinson and Latrell Sprewell in the 1997 GAH Finals. The next event will be the draft lottery that will take place next weekend. This 1997 draft class is one of the best ever, including Tim Duncan, Ray Allen, Rasheed Wallace, Keith Van Horn, Jerry Stackhouse, Antonio McDyess and many more talented prospects.

After the draft we will head into Free Agency where Shaquille O'Neal will generate a lot interest coming off his rookie deal after leading the Sacramento Kings to the best record in the Western Conference. But not only O'Neal will generate interest, as there will be other top players in the market such as Allan Houston, Jerome Kersey, Bruce Bowen, Terrell Brandon or Dennis Rodman.

We are right now in the middle of the 1998 Free Agency period and starting to recruit again. We have 10 available teams: https://nah.boards.net/thread/464/open-teams

Among the available teams we have contenders (Bulls with Jordan and Payton, Bucks with Webber and great supporting cast, Rockets with Kidd at the helm), rebuilding teams (76ers with rookie Garnett and sophomore Van Horn, Knicks with the young Wallaces (Ben and Rasheed), Celtics with McDyess) and borderline playoff teams which can go different ways (young up-and-coming Timberwolves, veteran Pistons and Cavs and the Jazz with a mix of youth and veterans).
