Player tendencies

Player tendencies

So let's say you have the following tendencies of a player:
- 30% outside (I assume that's tendency to shoot 3s)
- 60% midrange
- 10% post

Also
- 40% drive
- 60% shoot

Not sure wat is the relationship between those tendencies. So 60% of the time, that player will be looking to shoot a midrange jumpshot. And if let's say he is already in the position to shoot from midrange, there is a 40% chance that he will instead elect to drive to the basket (?)

Assuming it works like normal percents you would have to factor both sets in.

So first he will choose to shoot 60% of the time and drive the other 40%.

Then when he shoots... 30% of the time it will be outside, 60% mid, and 10% post

So that should work out to shooting a 3 about 18% of when he has the ball, midrange about 36% of the time, and posting up about 6%.

Though I don't know if his scoring ratings would alter those percentages.

I think that makes sense. Which is why even if you adjust the Drive percentage, the 1st pie chart (Outside-Midrange-Post) doesn't change.

The only confusion is, when you call a player and ask him to Drive More, he will ask you which tendency (Outside-Midrange-Post) would he decrease.
