I am in the summer portion of my season and I have only 11 players on my roster. Is there a way to add a couple of players by creating new ones?

If you are still in early May there will be a transfer season. You can try adding some transfer players during the 6 periods for transfer offers. Then after that (June), walkons will be provided by the AI to bring your total roster to 15.
