Is it possible to save when in game, say after the 1st quarter?

No, if you exit the game it will sim the rest of the game automatically.

Thanks for the answer.
Hopefully it can be implemented because I think it would be much needed for players who want to play all 4 quarters but don't have hours to sit behind the PC in one session.

I really do hope a save option can be implemented because I like to call every play.
For example I have just over 30 minutes free game time, but if I cant save its pointless starting up. I cant play DDSPF21 like this,

This is not something we can put into a patch and I'm not sure how much work it would require to save the states of games as they were going on. It likely isn't something we'd look at for several versions down the road.
