Shotgun 4WR TE Plays make no sense

I just realized there are plays that according to name are directed towards the TE yet under the Shotgun 4WR formation at the same time.
This is impossible since there is no TE in 4 WR Shotgun formation, correct?

Can someone pls explain this? Brooks, why shouldnt such plays be removed? I just checked again, looking at one of my teams in the Shotgun 4 WR set - as I suspected, there is simply no TE in this formation at all! This seems like an obvious oversight.

If you look at the play XMLs each player is represented in a slot 0-10. On plays with 4wr two slots that are normally fullback, TE ect. are WRs.

The base plays are just misnamed. the play is meant to be named for that 4th wide out. They are probably misnamed because they where copy pasted from a play with a TE in the formation. It shouldn't effect how the play works.

This is why I always write my own plays, so I understand how they work and the name makes sense to me.

They're 4-wide formations... one has 2 TE's as primary split out wide, and the other uses just 4 WR. Can't really go back and start renaming plays since it would break many playbooks that people have created, so we kind of just left it alone.
