Help - GM/HC

Hey folks,

I am just now exploring DDSPF21. I started a team in career mode, but I can't access anything like depth charts, training, etc... because I am not the head coach. How do I become a head coach? I can't figure it out.

On the left side of your screen (the menus, toolbar, whatever) in the lower middle there is a box with a team name and helmet in it, make sure this is the team you selected to play.

normally this can be used to view info about other teams, but sometimes its starts out set to a different team than the one you are playing.

Good luck, and have fun!

In career mode you need to set global mode. If you set local it only lets you act as GM and make higher level decisions.

I was able to do the draft, but can't do anything else. I am listed as the GM, but not the coach. Did I screw up the initial steps somehow? I am on the right team because I can see the guys I drafted.

It is what Brooks said above.

I think the only way to change it is at league setup.

Maybe add in some popups or overlays that actually explain what all of these options do. I mean really Hard Mode? What does that even mean?!?!?

In fact, when I saw the global/local options, I was totally confused and thought I had first started a multiplayer or online game...but even after realizing I was in a solo career mode game, I still had no idea what global or local meant.

Or maybe even use different wording...global and local mean nothing when I'm thinking can I control things like setting my depth chart or not. You'd be better off just stating what it means, like "You control everything" or "You oversee operations". Something, anything but global and local.

But regardless of wording and semantics...there needs to be away to set this option once in game...simply because my coaches are either complete morons and know nothing about football, or your design and coding does not work, as I have made a number of signings/trades for better higher quality players and they are NOT placed in the depth chart. As an example...I am running with the Jags and hate Minshew, but was rolling with him till I saw Tyrod Taylor show up as an FA. Minshew is rated as a 71, Taylor is rated as an 80...but alas, my coaching staff thinks Minshew is the man so in he stayed and the losing continued. So I thought well ****, if they're not going to play Taylor, I'll trade him for a WR Minshew can throw incomplete passes to. In steps the trade to Cincinnati for Tyler Boyd, rated at a 79...6 points higher than Board who is at 73.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! My staff doesn't feel Boyd has what it takes or some freaking thing because they won't put him in the freaking lineup!!!!!

So make changes to the system to allow us more usability, or fix the coding so the game actually works correctly. And add in explanations of all the freaking options...you coded it and know what it all does, we DO NOT KNOW, help us like your game.
