Advanced Settings - What do they do?

Just picked up DDSPF21 and I'm trying to make a more realistic experience. I see in advanced Settings there are two settings: Run/Pass Ratio and Baseline Ratio Modifier.
Can anyone explain what those mean and how they work? I played with them a bit and all I can't really figure out how they're impacting the simulation.
