Is free substitution going to be in the works for this game?

Like, ever? It feels weird that a game based on a sport that rather famously allows substitutions at any time for any reason won't allow you to do the same. I mean, the Front Page sports series had this "feature" over 20 years ago (and it's such an ingrained part of football I hesitate to even call it a feature).

Maybe in a future version... it requires a significant amount of work and hasn't been prioritized over several other features and tweaks in the game. If we get enough folks requesting it I can bump it up on the list.

What is meant by "free" substitution? How is this different from substitution? If you are looking for votes to get this added to the game, you can add my YES vote.

I read it as removing packages and depth charts and letting the user select/change who's on the field for each play. Or at the very least setting an initial lineup and then leaving the same players in until someone chooses to change them. To me it seems tedious which is why we have the package setup, so those who want to micromanage can set up packages for each scenario and then swap them in. But like I said if enough folks want to see a change to a different system I'm open to it, it just hasn't really been asked for that much.

I don't mind the packages. A system to replace individual players on each play might work better IMO. I usually have 3 packages on offense and 2 on defense to replace1 to 3 players for the situation I'm in. I'm guessing the biggest audience for the current game is people that sim or play multiple player leagues?
