How do I get this done ?
Since teams are bit off when this strict position min-max is put in force when the season start I would very much like to make ex. a guard to a center, or maybe a DE to DT. That must surely be possible
but I can't find out on what screen and how. Tried in the roster management but can't find anyhting.
The issue on changing a RB to FB, or TE to FB might also be important when these restriction forces you to do this.

Edit player allows you to change them, or change position on the player card. They may be locked down if you're not a commissioner/authorized, etc.

Don't you think one should be able to make small changes in any form one play.
Since this min/max restrict things both human and AI should be able to do this. It's kind of "normal" for a Guard to move to Center if needed, and the moves like putting a TE in as a FB in I-formation is very common. Players do make these changes IRL, like SS to FS and vice versa, and of course CBs.
I think you should take a serious thought on this and make the game a bit more flexible.

The biggest problem on this what I found out is when you start a "regular" 2020 save and you jump right into bidding on FA. The AI goes mental and signs a bunch of fictional players instead of waiting for that massive release that comes later on. All teams have +70 players so real players will be released later on, but the AI doesn't care about that. It panic and try to fix the min/max problems.

Think this little thing is a big step to make it even better.

You can do all of this already via multiple depth charts and strategy weightings. So if you want a guard at centre for a certain olay type you can already set this up.

I know that, but the problem is the min/max. You can't get forward with an O-line with only one dedicated Center. Even if you put a Guard as backup in the Depth Chart. I'm more used to lets say OOTP baseball where you can set position for an infielder to whatever position then put him in the lineup to play backup on all infield positions. I kind of feel handcuffed with these min/max restrictions and back of my mind I see this as a programming thing to make it easier for the AI. Lacks a bit of flexibility. I think the College game works similar. You as a human can find a player playing better in another position, and change him to this, but the AI never seems to figure this out.
So basical it might be an area to focus on for the programmer. We all like to see the game improve "inside", not only on the interface and getting more and more screens to look on.
Well, have only tried out PF21 on the demo version to see what has been improved since older versions. This "problem" just came to the front very quickly.

To add the min/max for QB being 3/4 contra my fav position TE 2/3. Would love to have that 4 TE for the big packages on goalline and maybe use one TE as a FB. Same answer I guess. Use the "forced" FB as that 4th TE. I buy it but do the AI work that out ??

So to clarify the issue is not that the user cant do all of the above but the AI doesn't work that when you play against them?

If it's the latter I have no idea as I play multiplayer only where position moves and line up sets are just the norm for human GMs.

I'm not exactly sure what the ask is there. The min/max are already configurable if you want to change them. The depth charts are set up so that you can play your OL's across the line (and other various positions) without requiring a change in position. And depth charts can be completely unlocked for folks who want to sign punters and play them at QB or whatever historical situation you can imagine. The CPU will put guards as backup at center, and SS at FS or CB depending on the skillset. Seems like the game already does all of the things you're mentioning.
