I'm new to the game, have some experience with football manager though. I was looking around for various mods, bringing the game closer to reality and of course I have already added the NFL mod.
Is there any way to start a new league e.g. a carrier mode with real-life NFL rosters? Including current draft order and schedule.

The game comes with default rosters, but they aren't 100% up to date. You'd have to check the mod section for folks who are working on more accurate rosters and additional files for schedules. For draft order I believe you'd have to set that up yourself when you enter the draft screen as it's not something controlled by mods.
