Getting crazy stats with Long passing preference

In both pro and college 21, setting the coaching strategy to "Long" (as opposed to balanced, short, medium) yields crazy good stats. QBs typically throw for more TDs (expected) and far fewer INTs (less expected). Even mediocre QBs occasionally finish with 0 interceptions on the season. Additionally, switching to Long as opposed to an alternative will improve winning record by about ~1-3 - I've tested certain teams in College 21 and have seen them go from ~9-3 to ~11-1 or even undefeated.

Typically they show a reduced completion percentage, which is what you would expect along with the increased touchdowns. But the interception totals seem off, especially considering the heyday of the long ball in the NFL (60s-70s) saw pretty high interception totals, with HOF QBs typically throwing for more INTs than TDs.
