5.0.9 question please

Hey guys,
I know this has probably been asked and covered a million times so I apologize but will the new update 5.0.9 changes work in the middle of a current franchise with 5.0.8 or would I have to start over a new franchise for the changes
to take effect? Thanks guys I appreciate it!

unless noted otherwise, all patches should be backwardscompatible - this should be the case with this one as well. (You can make make a backup of your league just in case.)
