I think its hard to manage the clock and should be put up in the teams box with the quarters in the middle of them and be on all time so it would be easier to manage the clock when needed

There is no time limit for calling plays, so you have as much time as you want to look at the clock, down and distance, look through various plays, change formations or packages, check stats/boxscores, etc.
