Nickel and Dime Defenses

When playing my games, I have noticed that every time a team goes nickel and dime, they still only have 2 CB's on the field. Can someone explain why that is? I'm going against WR's with safeties constantly. To be fair, the CPU team does that as well, but it's not realistic.

You can play whoever you want in the nickle slot. Well not anyone, but LB, CBs, SSs, and FS are available to be inserted in to the nickle back position on your depth chart.

Yeah, I guess my issue is that the coaches' depth charts consistently use safeties. Doesn't track to what actually happens.
