Preferred opponent scheduling bug

I just started playing again after a few months away. After a few seasons the three schedule preferred opponents slots stopped functioning. Whenever I click them I do not get a drop down of teams to choose from. I took a job coaching a different team and it started to work again, then stopped again the following season. Now I'm nine seasons in and it still does not work. I started an entirely new game and it worked, then quit working in that game the following season. This is a game breaker for me. The game keeps automatically assigning me games I'll never win, giving my low prestige teams 2-3 losses every season. Also, even though its been a while since I last played, there has not been any updates, so I have no idea what could be causing this problem, as it was not happening before. Just to be safe, I redownloaded and reinstalled the game. It did not fix the issue. Please, help. NOTE: I am using the Real World mod.
