Can someone explain to me what the attitudes and changing the game techniques mean? I mean I understand exactly what they mean, but how do I know when my player is having bad attitude and any tips on asking them to change stuff about their game?

You'll get an email saying he was involved in some sort of team fracas (argument or fight or something else) or that he was complaining about not playing enough or something else like that.
