Play game performance

I understand that players increase attributes or decrease through training. Do players also increase attributes through games. if I have a linebacker who has a ton of tackles or a wide receiver with lots of catchers does anything reflect that in the ratings?

Not directly. But having good games can increase morale and give boosts in training, etc.

Thanks for getting back. In future it would be nice if real Game experience reflected more on player rating. If I have 2 players at same position with the same rating and personality the player getting real game exp should be light years ahead on rating progression. Also it adds more strategy do I start my aging player who is slightly better our put in my youngster to have him develop faster. Also after years of exp practice is not going to take a player in the real world to the next level (or be as important). A 5 year Vet is going to gain way more ability/progression having well played real game exp than he is in practice.
