Setup Multiplayer league

I am back at it this morning, and to no avail. I have tried everything. I must be missing something simple. The size of my upload the bin file is only 3 MB. When I try to load it, it says it cannot read it as a zip file. It isnt a zip file so I am completely lost.

I dug into the FTP server specifically and it is showing the files in there as they should however it is making folders for Teams - Styles- players - logs and a few other things. On the FTP website it says that all files should go only in this one folder. Would those being in a different folder make it mess up?

Actually I have made progress. If I delete everything from the file what the game is downloading from the FTP server is the correct file, but it is only downloading 1kb of it, where the file on the server is 3mb. That has gotta be part of the issue. Any idea on what is causing the problem?

I'm not sure what you're referring to. Most people just log in with FTP to determine the folder structure (sometimes the ftp user will drop you at a lower level folder than what is available via the web which is why we provide the remote folder). After you verify the files are in the right spot you just publish using the in-game publish option, and when a multiplayer user wants to load the game they pick Online and enter the full http address to download it.

My guess is that whatever http:// address you're using to download is not pointing to the same file you're looking at on the ftp server. I would double check the folder locations in your settings and make sure those are correct.

See https://wolverinestudios.freshdesk.com/ ... ine-league for examples on how my settings were set compared to my ftp folder.

Yes - I had another user here earlier in the thread confirm the download of the bin file VIA URL is working.

If I download it from my browser using - http://moneyleague.epizy.com/Please.bin. It downloads it, and it is 3 MB. I can Look at the FTP directory of files and I see it there as well at 3 MB. So I can confirm my browser is dowloading the bin correctly.

The problem is happening inside of the game. When I clock load league and put in the URL that I, and another user has verified it is downloading a file 1kb in size, and then throws an error than it cannot read the file as a Zip. No matter what I do this happens. So I can confirm the game can upload to the FTP, I can download from the FTP. The game is unable to download the file from FTP it seems.

My FTP Server - ftpupload.net
FTP Remote Directory - /htdocs
Web Root - http://moneyleague.epizy.com/htdocs

On the FTP side

FTP hostname: ftpupload.net
Subdomain http://moneyleague.epizy.com

On the file directory it has /htdocs and it says all files should be uploaded to that folder. So that explains why I set everything up the way I did. Anything obvious you notice wrong. I got a gut feelin git is something simple I am overlooking.

If htdocs == root, then you don't need htdocs in the web root.

FTP Remote Directory - /htdocs
Web Root - http://moneyleague.epizy.com

When I try and download http://moneyleague.epizy.com/Please.bin I get a 404 error.

Also like I said above, the game doesn't download from ftp, it downloads from http, so if you can put http://moneyleague.epizy.com/Please.bin in your browser and get the 3mb file, then when you enter that into load league it will pull the same file.

I have been editing the FTP folders and everything trying to get it to work. https://moneyleague.epizy.com/Leagues/Please.bin

That HTML downloads the bin files. I just tested it myself.

My problem is coming when I put the same URL in the game. The one that If i put in the browser it downloads the bin.

It gives me this error "Error loading league: Could not read C:\Users\DAG\Documents\Wolverine Studios\DDSPF 2022\Leagues\Please\Please.bin as a zip file"

I can see the bin size and everything in the HTML download.

I just copied that link and it doesn't work for me. I assume if you change it to /Leagues that you are now using:

FTP Remote Directory - /htdocs/Leagues
Web Root - http://moneyleague.epizy.com/Leagues

I will say some "free web hosts" actually have pointers in their web code so that http requests get routed through proxies, javascript, or other mechanisms before serving the content. So http could be working from a browser since it understands how to follow javascript redirects, etc. but the game http request most likely will not. I haven't seen this reported often, but I'll throw it out there as a possibility since I have seen it before. If you're sure you have everything set up correctly but it is still giving you issues I would see if you can find another web host to test with.

Do you have a recommended web host? I don't mind paying. I just wanted to see how it worked setting up etc. I emailed Daves @ statsplus but I have not heard back.
