Game ended even though QB spiked ball

Just finished a wildcard playoff game where the opposing QB spiked the ball on 3rd down with 0:14 remaining in the game, but then the game ended anyway without them running another play. I was actually playing this game, calling every play and not watching a replay if that that makes a difference. Did I miss something or should this not have happened?

I'd have to check to confirm, but my quick guess is that the spike ball time is picking up the start time of the previous play as opposed to the actual current time. So in this case he didn't spike at 14 seconds, he spiked inside 7 seconds, which even a spike play can take a few seconds and therefore finished the clock. I'll try and remember to check this in the code though.
