Practice Field

Practice Field

Love this game, very immersive. The one thing I'd like to see is a practice mode. Where different packages and personnel running different plays in different situations can be tested.

In real life, practice is often the best way teams evaluate talent and see what does/doesn't work.

We kind of treat preseason that way.

Problem I have with that is the back-ups get in by half time and I didn't get a chance to run every scenario with my starters. Also, if I create a play mid-season, I can't test it until next season?

Correct... we set it up that way to mirror the real world. If an NFL team creates a new play in week 14 they're not going to have much data if any on how it will perform. Typically they install new offenses and such in the off-season.

For DDSPF you can certainly load up a sandbox league and create plays just to get a feel for how it works, but there isn't a way inside an existing league to "test" other than playing games.

Is this a feature that can be added in F23? Its not only about the play creation, but more about the talent evaluation within that play.

When I hear the overall in the match engine is different than how its shown on the roster, I’d like to understand which player is truly better. Just feel like a practice mode would enhance the immersion a bit.

Sorry, it's not something we're planning on adding. We want the immersion of people evaluating talent via ratings, personality and traits, reading weekly emails from coaches, trying different game plans, trying different personnel, etc. versus just loading up a practice sim and generating hundreds of results until you minmax your playbook.
