Some QBs can’t complete a pass

Some QBs can’t complete a pass

Starting QB for the Titans got hurt, so the backup has been playing the last few games. This QB has a 55 overall, so he is not that good; however , I don’t think I’ve ever seen a QB go 0 for 30 passing in a game. He has completed just 3 passes in 3 games, out of 90 attempts or so. What could be the cause of this? I checked his attributes, and his accuracy is in the 60s, and no other attributes are 0.

How's his intelligence? we saw Johnny Manziel do this in our multiplayer league last season. He had ok ratings aside an abysmally bad IQ rating. It was like 35

Thanks for the replies. His intelligence is 42. This seems to be a pretty major bug in the sim engine, in that intelligence isn’t affecting pass completions properly. Even someone with 0 intelligence wouldn’t go 0 for 30 in a game. Even if it was simming as designed, the Titans should be benching or releasing someone that bad, lol.

His int is too low so he will not be effective. Not a bug.

There’s a difference between being not effective, and completing 3 passes in 90 attempts. The worst NFL quarterback can probably complete 45-50% of his passes.

Yea, this is by design so folks can't just convert any random player over to QB to be effective. Int, Accuracy, Arm, traits, skills, and receivers, depth of throw, and defensive awareness, etc. all factor in. If one of those ratings is really bad, or if multiples are horrible you'll get really bad results playing those players.

42 int is not an NFL level quarterback. probably not even a D2 college QB

This happens with a lot of 3rd string QB's. They can't seem to complete anything, going 0 for 30 can't be how it was intended. How would they ever be on a roster being unable to complete a pass?

Agreed. It’s astounding that the response has been that this is by design, for a football simulation. The previous reason given holds no water, as you can prevent other players being converted to QB by simply not giving them high passing abilities/ratings. This has made me not want to play the game.
