I really like the CB recruiting system and find it more immersive. However i also think recruiting in CF is different as you are need to recruit more players and overall i think recruiting is quite good in CF22 and deep. For me personally it just needs a few tweaks to make it more immersive. As far as improving immersion I’ve been thinking about this and remembered how for me recruiting immersion was broken from NCAA Football 13 into 14. There they switched from phone calls, swaying pitches and making promises in '13 to assigning points in '14. So imo the problem currently is mainly how recruiting is presented in the UI and to the user with the points system, so my suggestion would be to simply substitute the points with a more real life efforts/events when presenting it to the user to make recruiting, scouting and outreach decisions i.e. the user would select efforts/events instead of points even though those would still be in the backend:
Recruiting: phone calls instead of assigning recruiting points e.g. instead of assigning recruiting points 1-10 you would assign different recruiting efforts:
- send school brochure (equal to 1 rec. point)
- send letter of interest (2 points)
- send multimedia recruiting package (3 points)
- position coach phone call (5 points)
- offensive/defensive coordinator phone call (7 rec points)
- head coach phone call (10 points)
Scouting: For scouting I would also like to see various types of scouting efforts being presented for selection instead of points e.g.:
- Watch highlights (3 point)
- Phone high school coach (6 points)
- Review game film (10 points)
- Send scout to watch a game (15 points)
- Request a complete scouting report (20 points)
Imo there should also be a bonus for all recruits in your home and pipeline states so you have some info already available to you:
1. home state recruits
- are scouted randomly between 30-50% certainty (so you still have to fully scout these players to reveal all info and potential)
- show recruits top 5 schools
- 20% chance player will have his personality revealed
- 5% chance for complete reports (100% certainty) being available for recruit including personality and potential
2. pipeline recruits
- are scouted randomly between 20-30% certainty
- 10% chance player will have his personality revealed
- show recruits top 5 schools
I would also like to see scouting services being used as in CB game in a similar fashion of basic and premium reports. Since there are so many recruits you have to go after the change here could be that for premium reports you unlock 20-30% scouting certainty only for 3 positions that you choose (based on need for that year) within a region.
Outreach:
I really like the outreach system, the only change here would be to again just replace the points with the actual outreach efforts/events which are already great imo.
