Zone with good players?

Zone with good players?

Postby tbrtb » Wed Mar 30, 2022 2:41 pm

New player here, and I'm starting a dynasty as NC State and wanting to primarily use zone on D, Syracuse-style. We are decent and I'm recruiting better players.

I know zone is typically used to cover for bad defenders, but what happens if you continue to use it as your team improves? I'd also want to play high intensity D and wonder how that factors in a zone D.

Thanks for any insight!

I have really good success with man to man, but haven't played at a low TP school lately. Will soon to see if it works there as well.

I've historically had success playing long-term zone in this game, but usually only after my players develop a strong familiarity within that set. There's nothing worse than running a high volume of zone with players who don't know it and giving up a bajillion points in the paint on open looks.
