Question About League Creation and Rosters

I was wondering...when a game is created, how are the initial rosters formed? Are they formed with the general presumption that your coaching staff probably recruited those players to the program and, thus, are closer to your coach's style of play?

Or is it more random and wild-cardish?

(I know coaching staffs can come aboard and be brand new, and perhaps this is how the game approaches it. But if so, does it approach it for every program?)

Mostly randomized
