Pass Blocking / Sacks

Pass Blocking / Sacks

Postby RaidersFan65 » Tue Nov 15, 2022 11:23 am

All my plays are custom created plays.

On offense, on pass plays, I just use pass block for offensive line and any back or TE I'm keeping in to block. They all have pretty good ratings, yet somehow I'm giving up no less than 5 sacks a game. Considering I run the ball about 60% of the time, and the majority of my passes are short, I can't understand why the sacks are so high.

On defense I blitz a LOT. And somehow, over 3 seasons of play, I'm averaging just about 10 sacks a game. Again, this seems a little steep.

So, my question is about blocking for pass plays... is there a more optimal way to pass block besides just using Pass Block? Should I have the tackles set on Pass Block Tackle and guards on Pass Block Guard, etc.?

Finally, I had the same issue in 2022. In fact, I have the same plays from 2022 which I imported into 2023 (with a few exceptions).

Thanks!

Yes, "Pass Block" is for WR, TE, RB, etc. where they kind of step forward. Pass Block Tackle/Guard/Center all drop back a bit to form a pocket.
