Depth Chart Issue - CPU Teams benching star players

Depth Chart Issue - CPU Teams benching star players

Postby gambler1650 » Fri Jan 20, 2023 12:57 pm

So, this has been a problem for awhile in dynasty/franchise mode. The first season is fine, but once you go to the second season, some star players on CPU controlled teams get benched.

Examples:
Justin Herbert (88 OVR) for San Diego is the backup to some schlub (72 OVR)
Aaron Rodgers (100 OVR) is the backup to Jordan Love

As soon as I noticed this I stopped playing, because it completely takes me out of the realism of the game. Will this ever get fixed?

I just created a few new leagues, one career, one MVP, and one sandbox, simmed a season, and I'm not seeing this issue. Both Herbert and Rodgers started every game.

It's always in the 2nd season. The first season is fine.

I'm not seeing it in the second season or third season either.

Hmm, do you have storylines turned on? Wondering if it's because of that and I missed the news articles that would tell me. Nevertheless, neither Herbert nor Rodgers has started a game in their 2nd season.

You may have to log a ticket and upload a link (google docs, onedrive, dropbox, etc.) the .bin file you are seeing this in. We don't have a dynasty/franchise mode... we have sandbox, career, multiplayer or MVP, so I checked all of them since I wasn't sure which you were using. And I'm unsure what you mean by turning storylines on.

Will do so tomorrow. Some clarifications as I was away from my PC the last couple of days. It was career mode using the Real World 23 mod. And Rodgers did play (looks like he may have been injured and I didn't catch it). Herbert (OVR: 88) did not play however and he hasn't been injured. Chase Daniel (OVR: 62) has started each game so far. I even went so far as to trade for him so that the choice would be between Herbert and Easton Stick (OVR 65). The Chargers trotted out 'no name' to get crushed.
