Player sacks

Player sacks

Looking at stats in DDS PF '23 vs PF '22, I noticed that sack leaderboards are always way lower. The total sacks league-wide is usually roughly the same (maybe 75-100 lower but not a huge difference) but the individual sack number leaderboards are never high in '23.

In the NFL there were 20 or so players with 10 plus sacks (50 or so with 7+ sacks). In PF '22, I saw 15 players usually with 10+ sacks (40-45 about with 7+ sacks). This aligned well with "NFL" expectations. But in PF '23, often find only 4-5 players with 10+ sacks (15-20 with 7+ sacks). Not sure what reason or if anything changed. Maybe something with the new stamina settings and sack guys getting rested more often? In general, it just seems like great pass-rushing DEs don't make the impact that you would expect. Often the best teams in the league and best defenses in the league in PF '23 rank in the bottom 10 in league sack totals and never need to have impact "sack" guys. It's seems more about about having a great secondary and some speed or 1 star LB and maybe some lost on have a star DE. Not really sure what the question is here but just an observation. Not sure if anything commish or GMs tweak in settings or help get higher sack guys again. Or something to review for '24.
