I want to tackle a project and make a D2 basketball mod with all of the teams and conferences but I have a few questions before I attempt this. Is there a certain # of teams or conferences that I must have in order for this mod to work? Is there any way I can set each teams court to default automatically instead of having to do it manually?

Can anyone help me start this out? I’m not quite sure how to start editing the mod. I also am not quite sure how to change conference names and logo’s.

Hey Adam...I'm sure you will get some feedback and help from one or more of the DDSCB gameplayers who know how best to do what you want. But this is a busy time of year as the holidays are rapidly approaching. So you may need a bit of patience.

This will be a huge project depending on what all you want to do.
1. Yes there is a limit on the number of teams per conference. In DDSCB24 its 15, I assume that will change with DDSCB25 as now many power conference have more than 15 teams, so take that into consideration before you put to much effort in to the mod. You will need to have 353 teams in DDSCB24 and DDSCB25 will up that with new teams joining DI so you will need to plan which version of the game you are making this to work as this is hard coded in the game.
2. Team courts are assigned by name in the teams.db
3. You change the Conference names and logos in the conferences.db

Someone did a DII mod several years ago. You may want to find and download that. Maybe you can get permission from the original person that made the mod to update/continue development of it. If not atleast look it over for learning experience.
I am working on the 2024-25 season DI mod and two other mods GT2 and GT3 so I really don't have time, plus I do not have any DII knowledge as I have never watched a DII game and low interest in another large mod to make.
You will need to be proficient in database editing to make all the changes to the conferences and teams databases as well as coaches.db if you plan to have them in your mod.
The biggest issue you are going to encounter is courts. There will be a lot of them, they are not easy to make and are time consuming.

Not that it's easy in any way, but because Gary allowed the old gameplay display to return, it might make the court creation a little easier if you wanted to go that route.

Ok, I've got team names, city's, states, and nicknames. I'm getting the conferences sorted but I'm confused on what "ConfType" is in the database editor. Can anyone shed some light on what that means?

Its in regards to the type of conference schedule. There should be types like 11a or 8a or 12d...each of these correspond to a schedule format thats listed somewhere in the database. I think it's under the default.db file. Comes up as different tables. The 11 means 11 teams in conference, the a/b/c/d/e refers to the type...so like some conferences play 20 conf games and others play 16 or 18, and then there's conferences with divisions. Some "letters" mean you play home and away games in your division and the rest is filled by the other division. You just gotta kinda play around to find the right ones. Hope that helps.

I just wanted to give an update on this Mod. I've gotten all the team names, mascots, abbreviations, and cities/states. Now I'm tackling the color's and then the logo's. I'm not going to mess with courts so I'll just use the default courts since I mostly sim games anyways. This is a much bigger project than I anticipated but I feel like I'm making good progress.

I have this complete but for some reason, all of the teams colors are off. I can't figure out why the team colors aren't showing up right. I know I got the color codes right in the data base. Anyone have any insight?

What format is your color coded in? The format should be in "Long", not HEX
