I took over a small school and I'm on year 15 now. I've had seasons where I've won a national championship and the ACC, lost only minor role players in the offseason, and been left out of the preseason top 25. Then I check the season preview magazine and I'm picked second in the conference, ahead of two other teams in the preseason rankings. Is school prestige a big factor in how the rankings are decided? Because sometimes I'm surprised to see so many teams with worse rosters ahead of my team. (My school's prestige is still 60 despite two national titles and 3 Final Fours, probably because they were awful for decades before my arrival.)
(It's not a big deal. Usually after one or two quality wins, I'm right back in there.)
