Importing Lg and Coach Changing Teams?

I had a league in DDSCB22 at the May 1st stage as instructed and imported it into DDSCB23. Everything looks perfect, but I want to take my coach and start him at a different school. I thought if it was at May 1st, I'd be able to, but it appears in the commissioner mode, the select coach/change team is greyed out.
Anyone have an idea on for to do this? I attempted to edit the DB changing the coach and asst coaches to the other team ID's and reimporting but this didn't work either.
