AI Aggressiveness

AI Aggressiveness

First, I’d like to say that I’m enjoying this game a lot. Been playing for a few years and different versions and the game keeps getting better.

I play all my games out and one thing that sometimes makes me scratch my head is the aggressiveness of the AI, or lack thereof, in some cases. For example, I just go up 21-7, and the AI drives down to the 31, and it’s 4th and Inches and… they punt. So their field goal kicker probably sucks. Go for it! Or my offense is humming along and I go up 21-0 early and they come out and run it three straight times, including on 3rd and 7. The AI does get aggressive in the 4th quarter, but it seems like earlier in the game they don’t adjust to the situation and you can absolutely bury them.

Not sure how some of the AI game plans are formulated, would it just be a matter of making more aggressive AI game plans? Can we do that ourselves?

Anyway, just thought I’d share some thoughts and say great work on the game too.

Most of it is based on scenarios and coach aggressiveness settings. But even then there are a lot of 80/20 coin flips where you'll see coaches sometimes do things different.
