I've never been into manually scouting, I prefer to let the AI do it. How do I do that in this game? I just had my first draft and I didn't have any personalized information about the prospects.

There is an AutoScout button during the scouting phase you can hit.

When does the scouting phase happen?

It is after the free agent period. Between that and the draft. There is a prompt that ask about completing scouting. The scouting button is on the left tabs
