Incoming freshman already aren't happy?

Incoming freshman already aren't happy?

Postby SteveVictory » Sat Mar 08, 2025 10:16 pm

Just started my second season with my new team. Very excited about the two new recruits we're bringing in. I felt we recruited over our heads for a low prestige school - two stars with four-star potential.

But both have only a 34 percent on the coach relationship bar. How is that possible? We had great relationships during recruiting and they committed to my school. How come we are at odds already? Or is this normal until the season gets closer? Alas, one player is already considered "unpopular" yet he hasn't even met the team yet. Yikes.

Also, when do you learn about players transferring? When you advance to the next season?

I would think the opposite on freshman relationships with the coach/team -- most would come to campus wide-eyed and naively happy to be there ...

I spend a lot of time on X covering football and recruiting, and when a kid commits, even to a D2 or D3, it's all "I'm home!" and "thanks be to God!" and "I'm committed - this is my family!" ... that being said, I could see relationships souring quickly if they don't play much or if the environment isn't all that was promised to them or the coach is a phony...

It is tricky to try and mimic that dynamic in a game for sure ... but i would lean toward a majority of freshman starting happy as opposed to surely ...
