DDSCB2025 Collge Mod

It's that time of year to give a State of the College Mod Address with the imminent release of DDSCB2025 First Access looming.

Let's get started.
The mod will start with the 2024-25 season Conference-Team alignment.
New team Mercyhurst, their coaches and graphics added.
Teams and coaches wins, losses, tournaments, awards stats, all current for start of the 2025 season.
All coaches are real having their similar matching facegens for every team.
Nearly every assistant is rated in their real-life style of coaching. This year has the most assistants rated in the mod I have ever done, well over 90% of them have real ratings as I could create.
All coaches’ potentials now better reflect up and coming coaches as they will have higher potentials and move up through the ranks based on the best information I could find.
Two teams changed their names this season. Texas A&M Commerce is now known as East Texas A&M and IUPUI ended Indiana's and Purdue's sharing of the college with Indiana taking over and is now known as IU (Indianapolis) or IU (Indy) which is what the mod will use.
New logos for Grand Canyon, McNeese State, Purdue Fort Wayne, Siena, Vanderbilt, Virginia.
Switched Hofstra's Primary and secondary colors. They were reversed previously because the gold primary made it difficult to read text on the screen which is no longer an issue.
Updated arena name changes for a few teams.

One of the sites that I scraped stats from stopped operations and returned subscriptions at the end of 2024 so I lost that data to calculate Offensive Freedom, Offensive Focus and Defensive Intensity. While I came up with another way to do Offensive Freedom & Defensive Intensity, I am still struggling with the offensive Focus rating as some sites give data that seems to make this easy, in fact do not. Alabama for instance shoots about 41% of their shots near the basket, mid-range about 12% and threes at about 47% so with the sites I have been looking at show that as a balance offense. Inside , Outside balance, but I don't agree because of the of low amount of mid-range twos taken at 12% so I am still trying different methods to create a good rating. So the beta version will show many teams with a balance offense, but will not be what they will have in the mod update the first week of March before the games Official Release. Actually, it should change many more teams as I feel there are too many with balanced offenses in the beta version of the mod with thier data. But I have a few tricks up my sleeve to try yet!

After last year’s mod I started changing how I developed ratings for both teams and coaches. While its still a work in progress, I believe it's now good enough to start using. I'm sure I'll be doing tweaks as it goes but it will be better than last years already. The reasoning was the college game is changing, the last few years have brought many changes. Teams produce more offense and shoot more threes now. While I always used stats based on possessions, you can no longer even depend on that. A coach that’s been around for 10 years or more will be offensively lower rated than a coach that’s only been around for 2 or 3 years as his stats will reflect the higher offense and the more seasoned coach will be dragged down offense in the past. For instance in 2008, 100 possessions produced about 102 points, in 2025, 100 possessions produce about 107 points on average for the entire league. I started seeing the effects of this in last years mod and decided it was time for a change. The mod this year will balance that issue out so an offensive stat can be objectively used compared to year to year without that effect.

Many thanks to a couple of forum users for their contribution to the mod this year. I really appreciate their willingness to offer their work to be included.
Team abbreviations are completely new. In the past I made them simple so those not familiar with the NCAA teams could figure out what team matched the abbreviation. Thanks to ScottVib who sent me some he uses are now incorporated into the mod as they are more realistic to the abbreviations used currently in the national media.
This year the game adds JLemmen43 excellent players facegen mod. He also made on court models with the facegen on the models #161 to #1499 like the ones in last year’s mod up to #160, so adding his will complete all the on-court models this year. Thanks to JLemmen43 for permission to include these in the mod.

No changes were made to the Non-Conference Tournaments.
All courts but a few of the MAC conference are now completed and I will be working to complete those between First Access and Official game release.

For those importing previous association saves, I will be making a mod that will install those old named graphics so you will not have to re-load any that changed. If you are importing a save you have continued for many years it might be a good time to chime so I make sure to get those in. Right now, changes from last year to this year are in but I will include any others needed based on response. Right now, I have IPUI and Texas A&M Commerce included. If your save goes back to Hartford and St Francis (NY) then I need to add those and a few others that have changed names over the years.

That's about it for now. If you have and questions or requests now is the time as I will be making updates between now and March's office release date.
Good luck with your team of choice this year. Maybe this is the year you cut down the nets!

Jlemmen43……much appreciation to you as well. I’ve used your facegens in ver24. Greatly adds to the game to having much more realistic and selections to choose from.

Thanks guys!
I forgot this one included this year. Now coaches recruiting rating includes their ability to recruit in the transfer portal this year. I know NIL has a big effect in the portal, but I think some players choose a coach they want to play for or thinks he can better their game. Of course it will only have an effect for the coaches your are up against when recruiting.
Also we haven't had but a day of testing so far, so expect some changes the first week based on early feedback. So I would hold off on starting a long term association that first week. That probably will be good as I think we all will need a little time to try out the new features, especially the new NIL feature.
And I agree with WarEagle13 and highly recommends JLemmen43's facegen mod. If you download and install it with the CM25 mod it will only enhance the game by giving you many more faces at higher numbers that the game does not automatically use but you can load them in the game player editor to give you hundreds of more facegens to choose from.

Man! Do I (and I'm sure most everyone else who plays DDSCB) appreciate the mods and the modders who create them. Having correct team names, school nicknames, jerseys and logos, conferences with their proper names, real coaches with realistic strategies, historical stats, beautiful courts, a huge number of great faces, and logical team abbeviations makes a great game even more fun to play. So THANK YOU modders for your fantastic work!
