Great game so far!!!...

Stats: I've simmed multiple seasons but I am noticing that tackling stats is always dominated by the safety position when in reality the linebacker position is the position that usually dominates tackle stats.

NIL: Not sure how to use this and what effect it has.

NIL rating is assigned when the team is created and tracks closely with Prestige. The more the wins and the more the fans/bandwagon, the higher the NIL rating goes. It's a rating for how strong the NIL collectives and sponsors are at the school. The higher the rating, the more likely a recruit will come to that school due to having more opportunities to get local sponsorship deals. It's not something the coach or user can influence.

I did look at the SS tackles issue briefly and noticed that on the teams where the SS was the leading tackler the depth chart had them listed as a starting LB. I may be able to tune it a bit so that it doesn't happen as offen, but if you only have one starting LB over 90 and the rest are in the 70's, but you have multiple high rated 90+ SS it will start them in those spots instead.

Seems like the coach can influence it by whether they win or lose more games:)

Right, I meant the coach in game, or the user when playing as a coach, can't influence or direct any of the money or interact with NIL at all. For example, when you're playing your team and doing recruiting actions you can't offer $$ or contacts to players to entice them to sign.

Yep, I understood, was just joking:)

Yup, I just wanted to be fully transparent as to what the game is doing so people don't get the wrong expectation. NIL seems to be a tough subject, and I don't want to deny that it exists, but I also don't want it to overly complicate our video game. So it's in, but over time I'm sure as the real world adjusts to it we'll find additional ways of incorporating it.

That would be illegal, Schools can't support or have anything to do with that but it could be under the table.

That's not exactly true... since 2022 coaches can interact with the collectives, attend their events, promote them on TV, etc. They can even introduce and host the athlete and collectives on campus. They just can't direct the collective to pay a player or specify any contact type or amount. But simply the fact that a coach can facilitate the meeting to me means the coach wants that player and wants the collective to pay them... otherwise why bother with the meeting. And 100% you know that the coaches and collectives are talking... whether it's illegal or not.

But again, it's just another example of how the rules of NIL are rapidly changing (either by NCAA, colleges, or congress), are up to massive interpretation, and aren't super straightforward to add to a video game.

For the people who aren't interested in the NIL stuff at all, there is a toggle in the game to turn it off. Up to you whether the implementation adds to the immersion of the game.
