I mentioned this in my larger sim report, but I think it's important to address this as multiple big men are not shooting properly and I don't know why.
GOBERT STATS:
2022-23 (Real life): 360 FGM on 546 FGA, 66% FG%
2023-24 (Real life): 406 FGM on 614 FGA, 66% FG%
2024-25 (DDS): 404 FGM on 710 FGA, 57% FG%
2025-26 (DDS): 360 FGM on 760 FGA, 47% FG% (that's his on pace numbers, I've only played 44 games of the season)
He's shooting mid-range shots that he'd never take in real life. He's currently rated 83 overall. But having a big man shooting 47% makes him almost a net negative to have in the lineup.
JUSUF NURKIC STATS:
2022-23 (Real life): 52% FG% overall, 36% on 3s (2.3 per game)
2023-24 (Real life): 51% FG% overall, 24% on 3s (1.2 per game)
2024-25 (DDS): 37% FG% overall, 15% on 3s (2.2 per game)
2025-26 (DDS): 41% FG% overall, 20% on 3s (2.0 per game)
Going to 37% FG% overall would exile him from the league. Obviously this isn't as egregious as Gobert because Nurkic is not as good and does shoot more outside, but those numbers are still nuts from a career 50% FG guy.
There others like Bam Adebayo shooting 45% (career 53% guy), Clint Capela shooting 46% (career 62% guy), Valunciunas shooting 47% (career 58% guy)......
Any idea on what is causing this?
