Well the issue unfortunately is that the jersey numbers are stored as integers so 0 and 00 are just 0 to the code. If I can come up with a way to handle this in some other fashion I will

first go to commissioner mode, then you go to add/edit players tab, then go to select team window, then from there you select team and player and presto....change away!!!!

Thank you very much! Now, I wish we could go back to editing names and numbers simply by holding Ctrl (or Shift, I don't recall exactly which) + clicking on any player's name.

Here is something that annoys me.

Hall of Famers often play their final season with a random jersey #, either after a trade or signing as a free agent. The organization with which they have played the most career games then retires that random jersey number. Here are a few examples in my currrent game:
Spurs Kawhi Leonard #22
Pelicans Anthony Davis #44
Trailblazers Damian Lillard #24
Cavaliers Kyrie Irving #10
Thunder Russell Westbrook #10

So, if anyone is reading this, I would love to see the return of the old CTRL+click function that opened a window for editing a player's name and number.
I would also love to have the ability to edit retired jersey numbers directly in the game.

You could edit the retired jersey - you can use SQLite to open up the career.pbb file for your league and edit the RetiredJersey table. I will look and see what changes I can make so that the team retires the jersey he wore for them rather than what he ends with.
