Skill Ratings vs Position Skills vs Overall

Skill Ratings vs Position Skills vs Overall

Postby Kemp29 » Wed Mar 12, 2025 2:26 pm

Individual players have Skill Ratings (Strength, Agility, Intelligence, etc). They also have Player Skills (a numeric value for each position). They also have an Overall score. Can some please explain how these variables work together?

I tested a bit and it seems that editing Skill Ratings immediately affects the Overall score so I'm assuming that second value is a summarization of those individual ratings. However, what are "Player Skills"? Is that supposed to imply experience?

Thanks.

OVR is a culmination of skills and ratings to tell you overall how good that player is good at playing that position generally. However, just because a player has higher OVR doesn't mean they're automatically better, because higher OVR comes with higher salary asks. The best way to to prioritize certain "high priority" (position dependent) ratings so that you can get players that play exceptionally well in their specific roles without breaking the bank. Skill is intended to represent experience playing the nuances of that position, and the only way to increase it is to get more reps at the position, and for most positions, especially skill positions, it's very important.
