Landed 4-star recruit and received the official email. After another week, I got another email stating that he enjoyed our visit but upon reflection he feels we're not the right school. I did get him as a recruit so I'm guessing 2nd email was in error.

That's strange. How many times did you do home visits to him. What were the dates of the emails about your home visits and what were his coments about each of those visits? What date did he give a verbal acceptance of your scholarship offer? Did his interest level decrease after that last email about your school not being right for him?
