I go into the commish mode...I edit a player's number and also scoring, defense ratings. I save the changes and exit commish mode. When I check the edited player on the roster screen...the player's new number is shown, but the player edited ratings (2) are not shown or reflected. Am I missing something?

You probably will not see ratings change until your team is re-scouted and that is only done at certain points during the season if you have "No Scouting Error" off. I haven't tried editing with it "on" to see if if it's immediate then or not but assume it would be.
