They took Chris Anderson - SF at #4. They got a decent offensive player and a very solid rebounder. To me though he is a defensive liability on the floor.

Well it's contract decision time and just as I feared John Wall wants to wait for free agency. I hope he will stay with us and I can sign him in the off season. I renounce the rights to Dennis Bennett (SG) but keep the rights to Jerome Randle (PG).

Summer League is here and I decide to send (SF) Tobias Harris, (SF) Frank Hartfield, (PF) Jack Burks and (PF) Albert Reis to see how they do.

First game has the Rockets visiting Las Vegas. Frank Hartfield gets the start at SG and scores 23 points. Burks, our 1st rounder has 9 point and 7 rebounds. Reis has 10 points and 5 boards while Harris has 9 points and 5 rebounds. Elan Winter, the number 2 pick overall for Houston has 17 points and 8 rebounds. The Rockets fall to the Aces 108 - 86.

Our second game has us on the road in LA to face the Lakers. Hartfield once again plays SG and scores 13. Burks has 10 points and 6 rebounds. Reis has 8 off the bench and Harris adds 10 points and 4 blocks. Greg Monroe leads the way for the Lakers with 21 points and 12 boards but it is not enough as the Lakers fall in La La Land, 107 - 98.

Back home for our third game and we host the Kings. Burks has a poor showing with 4 points and 4 rebounds. Harris also plays poorly with 6 points and 7 rebounds and Hartfield does not fair much better only scoring 7 points and 2 rebounds. Reis shows why I drafted him in the 2nd round putting up 22 points, going 9 for 14 from the floor. Tristian Thompson paces the Kings with 22 points and 9 rebounds. The Kings get crowned by the Aces though, falling 96-86.

We jump on the jet and head to Miami for our fourth summer league matchup. Only player worth mentioning here is Reist again, going 7 of 9 from the floor and putting up 16 points. Nolan Smith has a good game for the Heat with 20 points and 6 assists. Once again the Aces manage to win on the road, beating the Heat 90-80.

Back home we take on the Cavaliers. Guess who has 17 off the bench for the Aces? If you said Albert Reis, you are the winner! Harris plays "ok" with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Gale Thompson has 17 for the Cavs and Alec Burks drops 22. Once again though, the Aces come out on top 112-90.

5-0 in summer league doesn't equate to much. I have to admit, I am a little disappointed that my rookies as well as Harris did not wow me. Reis looked good but it was summer league.

Free agency is here. My goal is to get a good PF as I do not trust the season with Burks as my starter and Reis as my backup. Here we go!

Well here we go!

The rankings are as follows...

Western Conference

1. Golden State
2. Sacramento
3. Oklahoma City
4. Las Vegas - Woo Hoo!
5. LA Lakers
6. San Antonio
7. Milwaukee
8. Utah

Eastern Conference

1. Miami
2. Philadelphia
3. Indiana
4. New Orleans
5. Chicago
6. New York
7. Boston
8. Memphis

Las Vegas Lineup

PG - John Wall
SG - Mitchell Boswell
SF - Luol Deng
PF - Blake Griffin
C - Enes Canter
BENCH
Manu Ginobili
Jack Burks (R)
Tobias Harris
Albert Reis (R)
Paulo Prestes
Bernard Pearson
Jerome Randle

11/3/13 - LA Lakers (3-0) @ Las Vegas (0-0) - Las Vegas 126 - LA Lakers 86. This game got ugly fast for the Lakers. At halftime, the Aces were up 62 - 49. All 5 Ace starters have double figures with John Wall leading the way with 27 points and 12 assists. Mitchell Boswell plays stellar D on Kobe, holding him to 3 of 20 shooting from the floor for 8 points. The Aces dominate the paint, outscoring the Lakers 68 - 26 for a huge opening night win.

11/5/13 - Las Vegas (1-0) @ Washington (1-1) - Las Vegas 114 - Washington 103. John Wall sticks it to his former - former team. Bet they wish they had not traded him to Toronto now. He drops 28 points, 12 assists and 3 steals on the Wizards. Enes Kanter pulls the double with 20 points and 15 rebounds. My pick for rookie of the year and the blip on my radar, Steven Cambridge has a decent night with 7 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks. Not thrilled that Yi Jianlian puts up 20 points and 12 rebounds on Blake Griffin. We dominate the pain again, 50 - 30.

11/6/13 - Las Vegas (2-0) @ Milwaukee (1-3) - Las Vegas 113 - Milwaukee 93. Kanter keeps up with his big games by scoring 20 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. John Wall leads the scoring for the Aces with 27 points. Milwaukee has 6 players in double figures but just like everyone else, gets dominated in the paint by the Aces losing the battle 24 - 38. The Aces also have a huge advantage in fast break points, running on the Bucks 23 - 9.

11/7/13 - Las Vegas (3-0) @ Minnesota (1-4) - Las Vegas 108 - Minnesota 96. Enes Kanter drops 18 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks on the hapless T-Wolves. All 5 starters for the Aces score in double figures lead by 21 points from Blake Griffin. The T-Wolves have some talent building if they can hold onto them. Sadly for Minnesota, they missed the chance at having the overall number 1 pick by switching draft picks with us last year. Now at 1-5, they may be heading that way again.

11/12/13 - Las Vegas (4-0) @ Golden State (6-1) - Las Vegas 105 - Golden State 96. Kanter is the man again, 22 points, 17 rebounds and 3 blocks. John Wall adds 15 points and 14 assists. Manu is huge off the bench with 19 points. Stephen Curry leads the Warriors with 18 points yet fouls out in 28 minutes trying to guard John Wall. I like what I am seeing with our inside game, once again we dominate by outscoring the Warriors 52 - 28.

11/13/13 - Las Vegas (5-0) @ Sacramento (4-3) - Sacramento 99 - Las Vegas 85. Well the dominance had to end at some point. Sacramento's backcourt dominates us. Aaron Brooks has 30 points and Tyreke Evans has 29 points. I think Evans has something against us because that guy always plays lights out when we are on the court. Blake Griffin leads the Aces with 19. Kanter again has a double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds but is really impressive with 9 blocks. John Wall has a double double as well with 17 points and 12 assists.

11/15/13 - Las Vegas (5-1) @ Portland (6-0) - Portland 106 - Las Vegas 99. Brandon Roy kills us with 18 points and 13 assists. Greg Oden adds 10 points and 15 rebounds and LaMarcus Aldridge leads all Trailblazers with 20 points. Kanter has 12 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks. John Wall has 22 while Blake Griffin has 20. The game was tied 46 all at the half but Portland went on a 30-19 run in the 3rd period that put the game away.

11/16/13 - Las Vegas (5-2) @ Memphis (4-4) - Las Vegas 96 - Memphis 85. John Wall has 26 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals. Enes Kanter adds 22 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Memphis has one player worth mentioning, Rudy Gay with 19 points. Now I know, I keep saying our inside game is really good but this is not a typo. We outscore Memphis 56 to 16 in the paint! Not to mention 34 - 7 in fast break points. I may try to ship someone to Memphis for their draft pick.

11/17/13 - Las Vegas (6-2) @ Golden State (7-2) - Las Vegas 105 - Golden State 102. Blake Griffin is your leading scorer with 30 points. Wall adds 20 and 12 assists while Kanter contributes with 16 rebounds. Monta Ellis paces the Warriors with 33 points. Golden State was up 85 - 72 going into the fourth period but cough up the huge lead. We seem to be a matchup problem for the Warriors.

11/18/13 - Sacramento (6-3) @ Las Vegas (7-2) - Las Vegas 99 - Sacramento 77. Blake Griffin leads the scoring for the Aces with 19. John Wall adds 18 with 11 assists and Luol Deng has 16. Enes Kanter has 12 points and 15 rebounds for the Aces. Once again it is the backcourt for the Kings with Brooks having 16 points and Tyreke adding 21 points. This game was over early with Las Vegas leading 53 - 30 at halftime.

11/20/13 - Las Vegas (8-2) @ Utah (5-6) - Las Vegas 106 - Utah 89. It's the Wall and Kanter show again. Wall has 23 points and 11 assists while Kanter has 20 points and 14 rebounds. Manu is huge with 16 points off the bench. Gordon Hayward has 22 for the Jazz. Once again, points in the paint favor the Aces by a large margin. The Aces win the battle 46 - 18.

11/24/13 - Las Vegas (9-2) @ Cleveland (3-7) - Las Vegas 114 - Cleveland 94. Wall has 27 points and 12 rebounds to go along with Kanter's 11 points and 12 rebounds. Luol Deng adds 21 points and 8 rebounds as well. Cleveland has 16 from Ryan Jones and Mario Chalmers adds 16 off the bench. Good to see my old "friend" Jeremy Lin log 3 minutes and do nothing with the exception of pick up a foul. Hope you get frostbite in Cleveland!

11/25/13 - Las Vegas (10-2) @ Houston (5-11) - Las Vegas 117 - Houston 99. Kanter takes it to Yao Ming with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks. His partner in crime, John Wall adds 25 points and 14 assists. Luol Deng adds 24 points as all 5 starters score in double digits as well as Ginobili with 10 off the bench. Houston gets 17 from Patrick Patterson and Yao adds 15 points and 10 rebounds.

11/27/13 - Las Vegas (11-2) @ Columbus (4-6) - Las Vegas 102 - Columbus 95. John Wall puts on a scoring clinic, putting up 42 points. Deng adds 17 while Kanter has 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Marcus Thornton has 20 and Raymond Felton adds 18. Fast break points kill the Cats who are outran 24 to 5. The Cats have 5 total blocks while Kanter and Griffin get 5 each as the Aces total 14 of them.
