seriously tough, I agree about UNM it was worlds better than any BCS offer I had. Not only is most of last years talent back, but the recruiting is staggered and I won't be dealing with trying to find 4 or 5 players at a time for next couple years. Facilities are top notch too... not sure if they are really that good in real life, but I'll take every break I can get

OOC: Apparently the Lobos didn't use one of their scholarships last year, and despite the open spot on my roster, I'm still not allowed to offer to a transfer which I really don't understand.

nm, i miscounted. I only have one walk-on, i thought I had 2.

Jun 5: With just 3 scholarships to give, Jeremy and I decide to get to the gold scouting service and do a nationwide search. That won't leave us with a ton of money in the in recruiting budget, but it should be enough.

Jun 25: We also decide to go the Las Vegas workout camp this year since we are new to the west. It might be a chance for us to make some contacts if nothing else.

Jun 26: Am very surprised to see that Ike Jeffers was not selected in the NBA draft. He should have a very productive career in Europe or wherever he decides to go.

June 26: We begin to make a list of recruits to look at. All are needs this season are in the front court. There are some good prospects on the national level already expressing some interest in us, but we will do our best to entice more.

June 27: One of the top 2 recruits in the nation has agreed to pay us a visit next week. Hopefully he'll be impressed by what we have to offer.

July 4: He came and was polite, but with every team on the west coast wooing him, I doubt we have much of a chance. Still, nothing ventured, nothing gained. We are having some success getting some good recruits to come see us even from the east coast, something I'm certainly not used to. Unfortunately MOST of the guys we are most interested in are from the other side of the country, so recruiting will be expensive. We are going to have to watch our pennies. (ooc: interesting that it's cheaper for us to travel to most of the the plains states than to other states in the west. Not that that doesn't make sense.. it does, I'm just surprised the game sees it that way. It really does look at distance as opposed to region. I wonder if the "close to home" ptich works the same way?)
