We met both of the school’s goals: Winning 15+ games and winning the conference tournament.

The week of March 13th I visited the 4 players to whom we had tendered scholarship offers. Interest level of 3 of the 4 improved, but one indicated he wasn’t interested in playing for us, so I withdrew the scholarship offer.

I visit another 4 players to whom we’ve offered scholarships the week of April 9th. We get 3 more commitments.

The week of April 16th, I visit 4 more players and make scholarship offers to 3 of them. Only 1 of the 3 are interested.

Four more home visits the week of April 23rd. Two more scholarships offered.

On April 30th, we get our 3 final commitments to fill all of our available scholarships.

I’ll provide information about the 7 new players at the beginning of next season.

Requested an upgrade of our D+ facilities. The request was denied. Our facilities will remain rated as C+.

Our prestige has increased to 11 (+ 1). The conference prestige is now 9 (+2).

Huh? Facilities D+ or C+? Great career for Brown. You will miss that guy!

Yeah, Brown carried us often (too much at times). Weird thing is that he could have even been better if he had a better work ethic. While his overall game did improve throughout his career here, his shooting percentages never really got better...think that could be a problem for him in the pros. He's an excellent example of a talented guy who has never really had to work to be good.

It's hard to believe I'm already starting my 6th season as a head coach at CSU Bakersfield.

Neither goal is very aggressive, although this year's team is hard to evaluate since there are so many new players.

I’m now 33 years old. There were no changes to my contract, so I’m still earning $84,000/yr and have 2 years remaining. My ratings are now:
Offense—53 (+5), Defense—52 (+5), Recruiting—36 (no change), Scouting—29 (no change), Player Development—57 (+5), Reputation—21 (+4), Job Security—100 (no change).

My coaching record after 5 years as a head coach at CSU Bakersfield is 98-54 (.645) with 3 conference titles, 3 NCAA appearances, two 20-win seasons, 1 Conference Coach of the Year award, 9 All-Conference players, and 4 All-American players (well actually the same guy getting the award 4 times).

Scott Roberts, my 1st assistant, will continue to be in charge of player development. His player development rating remained 67 (no change) and his reputation increased to 14 (+2). He’s now 61 years old and has 2 years left on his contract.

Greg Dye, was promoted to be my 2nd assistant. He will continue to handle our scouting duties. His scouting rating is 54 (no change) and his reputation remains rated as a 9 (no change). He is 64 years old and has 3 years remaining on his contract.

Jon Carroll, hired as my new 3rd assistant. He will be my recruiting coordinator. His recruiting rating is 43 and his reputation is rated as an 8. He is 40 years old and has 4 years remaining on his contract.

Randy Durham—Is likely to be drafted in the NBA draft, but as a likely 2nd round draftee, his making an NBA roster is questionable.

Michael Curry—After finishing with a 4.0 GPA, he has been accepted into a post-graduate program in sociology at Kent State University.

Jerell Brown—Is sure to be drafted for a NBA team, most likely towards the end of the first round.

Marcus Evans—It’s a good possibility he could be drafted by an NBA team, so he’s put his future on hold for the moment. If things don’t work out for him in pro ball, we have offered him a graduate assistant position with our basketball program. He wants to get a graduate degree in sports administration.

Isaac Bryson—Another great student who compiled a 4.0 GPA, he has been accepted at the University of California, Irvine in a computer technology graduate program. He also has a good chance at being drafted by an NBA team, but most likely in the 2nd round.

Ammer Self—While he never got along with me, he’s a good student and plans to go to Germany and after a short sabbatical from school, pursue graduate education over there.

C. J. Galloway—He’s been accepted to the academy for the San Jose, California Police Department.

Terrance Wiatre—He doesn’t yet have a job, but is interviewing with several businesses in California.

Josh Brown—He’s heading back down to Southern California with a sales job with a pharmaceutical company.
