Hemsley Tomlinson, the 8-by-8 Tournament’s golf analyst, said, "Dustin Johnson seemed like he was in control and would win this tournament outright, but then choked on the final 3 holes to drop into a tie with Rory McIlroy, who had played in the 2nd two-some and had finished his round earlier. Both played the first two holes of the sudden death conservatively. iIt was surprising to see Rory get into trouble on his drive on the 3rd playoff hole since he used a 3-wood rather than a driver. Dustin took advantage of that error and edged him out. With all 8 golfers within 5 strokes of each other, this was a very competitive and exciting round in the 8-by-8 Tournament. From here it's on to Farmington Municipal for the 3rd round of the tournament."
